40 hours total work :
work on Sunday - 4 hours -> $4*3/2*10.5 = $63
work on weekdays -36 hours - >$36*10.5 = $378
Total amount earned =$441

Hence D

Total wage earned= 36*10.50+ 6*10.50

= 10.50 (36+6)
=10.50(42)
=11(42)
=462

The answer is little less than 462 i.e. 441.

We are given that Carlos’s regular pay is $10.50 per hour, and since he’s paid 3/2 times that on Sunday, he’s paid 10.5 x 1.5 = 15.75 per hour on Sunday. Since he worked a total of 40 hours, which included 4 hours on Sunday, he worked 36 hours on days other than Sunday. Thus, last week he earned:

(36 x 10.5) + (4 x 15.75) = 378 + 63 = $441

Answer: D

36 x 10.50 = 378

4 x (10.50 x 3/2)
4 x (10 1/2 x 3/2)
4 x 63/4
= 63

378 + 63 = 441

Which is answer D

Have a query - why is it just 3/2*10.5? why not 3/2*10+10.5 as it the qx said 3/2 times that? Do we not add the base value of 10.5?

Thank you!
