From what I was told during the interview is that this time Indian applicants have applied in large numbers
Thus many Indians are getting waitlisted (I also got waitlisted).
However if you have a great profile then none of this would matter as you would supersede people like us.
I will leave the answer open ended as I don't want to influence your decision.
Thanks, with a score as high as 710, and a great GPA if you got waitlisted, I can imagine the competition. Why do you think many Indians are suddenly turning towards Singapore, though?
-I feel the education system for MBA-ex in India is tilted very highly towards ISB but ISB has ~800+ students and charges ~40 lakhs INR
-IIMs are usually preferred for their flagship, 2 year program while PGPX has some popularity, not as much as their flagship with an equally high fees
-MBAs in USA/Europe are expensive and highly competitive
While all these factors have always remained, the reign of digital technologies, combined with the current generation's calling towards discovering their 'passion' and making bold moves to switch fields could be one of the strong reasons for MBA-Ex programs to be gaining faster ground.
Singapore-NUS sits like a sweet spot (Cost -Ranking -Geography -Post Career opportunities) hence might be getting a large pool of applicants.
