I wanted to ask if i report my scores to a set of schools at the test center and i decide to apply later i.e. 1-2 yrs post the GMAT will my scores be there in the schools database and will they be considered for my application

Every additional Score Report will cost US$28(if not in your original list)
As such, it makes sense to try and short list the schools to which you intend to apply to
and when you take the exam(and don't cancel it), the score will be sent to the respective schools
As my understanding they will remain in the database of these schools

Mostly you are good to apply with unofficial score. But the official one is needed when you are selected. Most of the B-schools have the scores in the db. But sometimes they might ask you send again if they don't have it with them. No other go. It all depends on the schools though.
