I finished all the application requirements on 2/15.
One of my recommendation (the last one) was submitted on 2/25.
Anybody out there have a guesstimate on when I should expect to hear back?

Thank you guys! :)

I also applied 2/15 so I've been calculating and recalculating. Seems like it is taking 6 weeks from submission to get an invite. So by next week (maybe/hopefully)

Here's my timeline in case it's helpful:
-Submitted on 1/27
-Invited to Interview on 3/8
-STILL trying to schedule my interview. Have reach out to 7+ people and heard from no one. Seems like CBS has exhausted their volunteer interviewers in the DC area.

Good luck!

Oh boy. As a fellow DC-based applicant that's troubling

I ran into exactly this problem in Boston. If you can't find anyone soon, reach out to Felicia Goodman and she will help you out. For what it's worth, she gave me a few ideas how I could find other alumni (using a nearby zip code) and then offered to interview me over the phone or via skype if I still couldn't get a hold of someone.

I too interviewed with an alum in DC in February -- happy to PM with you about my "interesting" interview experience if that would be helpful.

Wow I'm excited to say I got admitted off the waitlist!!! I was beginning to think that I would have to wait until summer to get an answer. To all the other waitlisters out there, keep your chins up! :-D

I applied right before the merit scholarship deadline, and have not been informed yet. It took six alumnae contacts to get a response, so my feedback was submitted on March 8. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks! I ended up scheduling an interview with someone in Annapolis, Maryland. It's an hour drive, but at least it's on the books! :)

I've been lurking around here for a while trying to figure out when I should expect to hear back so I wanted to report my experience. My application was submitted on 2/7 with all required components including both of my recommendations. I'm happy to report that I was invited to interview yesterday, exactly 6 weeks to the day my application was complete. :-D :-D

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back and don't lose hope! :)

Anyone applying R3? Would I be wasting my time if I did this? I feel like it's pointless but might as well ask and see what everyone thinks or what the general perception is out there....

Probably a waste of time and money -- from what I heard, only people with outstanding circumstances (illness, family emergencies, deployment, etc) should be leveraging R3 at a school the caliber of CBS, and even then, there are very few spots left open. Probably best to wait until August for Early Decision if you really want to go there.

Hmm...I actually do have a disability, which I talk about in my optional essays. And luckily, the essays are literally copy and paste except for the why you want to be part of the columbia community one but that's an easy essay. I might as well try. I'll always regret not going for it...and I don't plan on waiting another year so I'm going all in right now.

apply. if you dont get in, apply e.d. next year. they like reapplicants - perhaps more so than any other school.
