Once one receives the acceptance phone call, do they also receive an official letter/email from the school? If so, how long does it take to get?

Waitlisted in Mid-January - Just got the ding. Best of luck to all still waiting!

Sorry to hear that. At least you have some acceptances. I'm still out at sea and no place to call home yet.

Did you speak with the WL manager? I was WL a couple weeks ago and my WL manager reached out to speak with me. We had a conversation on the phone that was like an interview redo. Talked ST/LT goals and why CBS. Not sure if this is a good sign that I'm closer to the admittance side or they do that with everyone?

Actually, felt like the interview went well. I actually thought the interviewer was trying to hint that it went well when we closed. Oh well, could have misinterpreted it.

For those who were admitted this month, can you please share when you deposit is due? As a waitlisted prospect, I'm curious when they may know more about the numbers of incoming students.

Thanks!

I'm not sure but I'm also a WL applicant and would be interested in knowing. Wondering also if anyone has historical data of acceptances off the WL? And finally, did the adcom call you to speak with you? The WL manager made a point to reach out to me and we spoke for half hour and felt like an interview redo, so not sure if they did that for everyone?

I am a WL applicant and did in fact speak with the waitlist manager. Sounds like it was exactly the same phone conversation you had. That was in late February and I haven't heard anything yet. I think the admission rate for the WL applicants depends on the admission yield from accepted students. The lower the yield the better our odds.

It should be on the admitted student's site. I think the tab is called "Connect with other Students". You type in your email and then you should see an invite on FaceBook.

Let me know if you can't find it.

Yeah I looked all over the admitted students website. There's a link on the left side that says Meet Other Students and that expands to Hermes Society, Peer Advisors, and Student Directory. But no link or email entry :(

hmm nevermind. found it. It looks like I had a browser issue. I opened the page on my phone and it's on the front page. the page is blank if I open it in firefox. Weird.

Hi everyone - it has begun!

Columbia announced deadlines for this coming app season:

Early Decision (binding): Oct. 8, 2014
J-Term: Oct. 8, 2014
Fellowship Deadline: Jan. 7, 2015
Final Deadline: April 15, 2015

Not too early to begin!!

Maybe there's a Class of 2017 thread already but we didn't see it.

(The dates are at the bottom of this page. We also have lots of Columbia info on our site.)
