Hello,
When a business school mentions that its average GMAT score is around a certain number, it is important to understand which version of the test they are referring to, especially now that both the GMAT Original (OG) and the GMAT Focus Edition are in use
If a school such as Audencia reports an average GMAT score of around 690, it most likely refers to the original GMAT rather than the Focus Edition.
You can make a quick and accurate judgment by following these steps:
Check the school ranking --> Look at the reported average --> Confirm through official information--> Visit the school’s admissions website or class profile to see if they specify which GMAT version the score refers to
In general, the higher the school’s ranking, the higher the expected GMAT average. When you see a figure such as 680 or above for a well-ranked business school, it almost always refers to the original GMAT
PS : Except the top schools in US,most of the european schools have averages equal to 645-655 (FE), so if they mention something that is above 700 or near 690 its mostly the OG one in my opinion

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to apply for a Master’s in Finance (EDHEC, Bocconi, Audencia, and some other business schools). On most university websites, they mention the GMAT score range that gives you a good chance of admission — for example, I know that for Bocconi it's around 650.However, I’m not sure whether they’re referring to the old GMAT or the GMAT Focus Edition. They usually don’t specify this. For instance, my GMAT Focus Edition score is 615, which corresponds roughly to 660–670 on the previous GMAT scale. So theoretically, it should be enough for Bocconi.Does anyone know if universities are now updating their score requirements to reflect the Focus Edition scale, or are they still listing scores based on the old GMAT?Thanks in advance for any insights!
