Can you please point out the correct sentence between the two?
Outdoor games such as football, which helps in keeping the body healthy, are also essential to the mental health of a child.
Outdoor games such as football, which help in keeping the body healthy, are also essential to the mental health of a child.
I understand that which should modify the entity just before the comma. I also understand that which can jump few words and refer to a word a little far away if the group of words conveys a single meaning. (Walls of the citadel, Micheal from France)
What about the group of words as the above? Here also which can refer to the outdoor games?

Outdoor games such as football help in keeping the body healthy and are also essential to the mental health of a child.
However, haven't seen these nuances getting tested on GMAT.

Here, which will modify football because of singular verb helps.

Here, which will modify Outdoor games because of plural verb help. The overall construct of this sentence however, can be considered debatable, especially the reasoning behind keeping the clause about "keeping the body healthy" in a non-essential construct. Perhaps a better construct would be:
Outdoor games such as football help in keeping the body healthy and are also essential to the mental health of a child.
However, haven't seen these nuances getting tested on GMAT.
