For the units place we should add 50 2's --> 50*2=100, so 0 will be the units digit and 10 will be carried over;
For the tens place we should add 49 2's --> 49*2=98 plus carried over 10 = 108, so 8 will be the tens digit.
Answer: B.

We are concerned with ten's digit, so just add the last two digits. Other digits will not affect the ten's digit.
2+22+22...+22 = 2+49*22
or just to ease calculation 2+49*22 = 20-20+2+22*49 = 22-20+49*22 = 50*22-20 = 1100-20 = 1080.
OR the sum of unit sdigit = 50*2 = 100, so 10 gets carried over.
Sum of ten's digit = 49*2 = 98 but 10 also gets added = 108...
Thus, 8 is the ten's digit
