What's the difference between Executive MBA and Regular MBA programs in terms of admission requirements, scores, and difficulty level?

Are colleges like Wharton, London School of Business, etc., a possibility for me to consider?

Consider checking out the websites of the schools/programs you mentioned. Some of the info you're interested in could be shared there.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was referring to 1yr full time courses. dee1pug1

The word 'executive' is a bit of a misnomer. Do you mean full-time or part-time? At the age you are, your choices are quite limited. The 1Y FT MBA programs abroad you could consider are Sloan Fellows, Stanford MSx, USC IBear, LBS Sloan Masters. A look at the class profiles should help you get started on self-assessment.

Re schools like Wharton, etc., though nothing is impossible, your chances may be slim, unless of course, you bring some aspects in your profile that are not often found. Equally critical for the schools would be your narrative on 'why MBA now?'.

Best wishes.

Hello everyone,
I'm a 40-year-old male from India with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputable college in India and a Master's in Computer Science from IIT India. With over 12 years of experience in a senior technical position (non-leadership role), I'm looking to transition into leadership roles and considering an MBA. I'm interested in pursuing a one-year Executive MBA (EMBA) program internationally.
I have a few questions:
  1. Relevance of age: Will my age be a concern for international colleges, and do they consider 40-year-old candidates as serious applicants?
  2. Executive MBA vs. Regular MBA: What's the difference between Executive MBA and Regular MBA programs in terms of admission requirements, scores, and difficulty level?
  3. International college recommendations: Can you suggest some good international colleges that offer one-year EMBA programs?
  4. Eligibility for top colleges: Are colleges like Wharton, London School of Business, etc., a possibility for me to consider?
I'd appreciate any guidance, insights, or advice from experienced professionals or MBA aspirants who have gone through similar situations.
Thanks in advance!"

For full time MBA hovering 1yr should be good to go ahead considering the 12 years of workex.
The college should be shortlisted wisely in which aligns with current and post MBA goals
