Had my interview on 24th Oct'21.
I got 3 panelists, 2 alumni, and an adcom member. Both the panelist were very experienced, one of them was from 2003 batch and had 20+ years of experience and another one is a product manager working for Microsoft.
My interview started out very chill, It was conversational in nature. We had our initial pleasantries and the first question was directly Tell me about yourself and Why MBA!
I mentioned my side hustle as a fitness coach and my long term dream of being an entrepreneur.
And the next 30 mins of the interview were around this topic, they asked me about my journey, how I got into fitness, What is my dream, Did I evaluate the risks here, who are my competitors, Why do I need an MBA.
They started proposing other courses that are available and asked me why I want to choose MBA over those domain-specific courses.
I guess I handled those questions well.
Not a single question about my work experience or what I do at work, rather they kinda grilled me on my hazy long-term goal of entrepreneurship.
The interview ended with the usual "Any questions for us?", I had a few and they took around 10 mins to answer them.
I took a mock from Preppie the previous day, and man! They really helped me structure my answers. The interviewer from preppie actually asked me similar questions related to my entrepreneurial dream! and it kinda prepared me for these types of non-conventional interviews! I would definitely recommend Preppie 10/10! Go for it guys :)

Received an invitation to interview on 5 August, approximately 1 week after submitting an application.
Interview was in person (I flew there) with the director of admissions. She met me at the doors and immediately was very warm and welcoming. She gave me the option of interviewing in her office or in the atrium to be in a more open space. I said I was fine with either, and told her I was vaccinated (and boosted) but had a cold that I had I caught from my daughter, who is in daycare, so I should probably continue wearing a mask throughout. She wore hers as well.
The interview ran the full hour, and consisted of the standard "walk me through your resume," "why now," "why MBA," "why Carlson/Minneapolis?" questions. One question I remember was about a time I actively worked to improve the diversity of my organization. She also asked what other schools I was applying to, and rather than demurring I told her, as part of my narrative is my desire to return to the midwest, and I only applied to midwest schools (in round one, anyway...). She also gave some good answers to my questions, which I didn't pre-prepare; the conversation naturally led to them. When it was over, she said that she was sorry she had to wrap it up but was due for another interview right then. I took that as a good sign.
It was my only in-person interview and easily the best interview experience, and likely my best interview performance as well. It's hard to compare in-person vs. zoom, but I'm certainly at my most comfortable with the former. The vibes at the place in generally were really good. It may not be ranked as high as some other schools but in terms of fit, I don't think any other place comes close, for me anyway.

Just had my interview with an adcom member for R1. Wasn't very conversational, but was as expected given the other interview debriefs.
1. Tell me about yourself and your background (the monologue, went on for about 20 minutes with only one minor comment from the interviewer).
2. What 3 words would your colleagues use to describe you
3. How do you work with someone who isn't as motivated or as driven as you? (Probably a follow up from the answer to the previous question in which one of my words was 'driven')
4. What do you do for fun?
5. Any questions for me?
All in all, 50 minutes, and very pleasant towards the end.

Was interviewed by an Alum. Class of 20. Very conversational. She had a set of questions prepared, mostly behavioral. She also took notes along the sessions. Questions were (tryin to put them in sequence):
-About yourself
-Why MBA , why now, why Ross
-Situation when you handled someone difficult
- What is your management style
- Situation when worked as a member of an uncooperative/difficult team
- Time when you failed
- Any other leadership experience when you faced adversity or difficulty where you came out successful
- 1 thing you are most excited about and 1 think you’re most worried about when you go to Ross
after exactly 30 min she gave me time for asking my questions. It was a very nice experience overall.

Hi All,
My interview was on 24th October. 3 alumns and 1 Adcom member on the call (adcom member with video and microphone off). The interview lasted around 30 mins.
Most of the questions were based around work experience. Few general questions like 'Why ISB?', 'What is one big conflict you handled at work?', 'Have you faced any failures?'.
I took help from Preppie and the mock with them really helped me get clarity and consolidate my thoughts. They're highly recommended!
Overall, the interview was straightforward. I did feel that a little more prep though, perhaps another mock, would have eased my anxiety and made responses on the day better.

Two alumns (one of whom was Class of 2019) and one another on chat who was silent with camera off (ad-com member maybe).
Interview was friendly and conversational. Questions asked were:-
1. Describe a project where the project itself was impact and how did you go about it;
2. A think that you encountered outside your core domain during the project at #1 or any other project.
3. Ethical challenges faced and how did you deal with them
4. If you're a partner tomorrow, how will you balance multiple interests when it comes to ethical challenges
5. Research on CAs and how they fare in placements at ISB
6. Why MBA? (asked in the form of "in my experience CAs generally don't need any other degree to reach upto CXO role)
6. What efforts you've made to bridge the skill gaps for which you seek an MBA
Overall, the interview was very relaxed, however, some of the questions (especially at 6) threw me off balance and in hindsight I feel I could have done much better.
It lasted for around 35 minutes.
For interview prep, I took mocks from preppie and their feedback was very pointed and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Interview time: 4pm
Interview start time: 4:35pm
(There can be delay in your interview against start time so be prepared accordingly)
2 interviewers (Co'13 and Co'17)
1. Run us through your journey and 3 key lessons
(After I ran them through my journey, I paused and then one of them asked me a question on why MBA)
2. You didn't mention the 3 key lessons
(I substantiated and gave 3 key lessons, in the end the interviewer asked me a question on the 1st key lesson that I mentioned - so yes they will pick up every word you mention)
3. Questions based on essay (lot of them) - Something on the likes of "What I would do if I were a manager"
4. Question on FinTech sector in India (Thanks Preppie for this)
5. Cross question on FinTech sector (Basically whatever you say, have a rational ready for you)
6. What are you passionate about apart from work?
7. You are from finance so why ISB?
8. Which other colleges have you applied to?
9. Tell us about your achievements at work
10. What do you actually do in your work - mention us a few deals?
11. What have you achieved differently than anyone else?
12. Questions on essay again
Duration: ~30 minutes
Then I asked them to introduce themselves - they did one by one. I was like "I just had a great conversation but you guys are pretty much strangers so why don't you two introduce yourself". They smiled and started introducing.
Then I asked them, "Tell me one thing that you do in your daily life which could be unique / something additive" (So the idea was not to go by the book and ask them about their experience at ISB). It's more about building comfort in the end I guess. The interviewers were like, "That's a tricky one because I cannot think of anything like that" (laughing)
Thanks to Preppie team for covering some of the essentials - It was great!

My Interview was taken by a couple of alums(One from the Co'16) while the adcom member was muted and his video was off.
It started off with the round of introductions and then the following questions were asked -
1. I was asked couple of questions on my background and the work i've done so far
2. Asked me about a challenge i had to face
3. Why MBA
4. Why not an Online Course from Coursera?
5. Since i come from consulting and have had a good career until now, why am i not pursuing strategy consulting instead of PM?
6. Why ISB?
7. How can i contribute to ISB?
Overall it was very conversational like all the other interviews and the panel was really warm. I did take a mock with preppie and got some really good insights. I took a couple of days to work on all the feedback provided and it really helped me prepare for the D-day and give my best. I would highly recommend you give it a try as you only get one shot at the ISB Interview and they'll help you cover all the angles possible.

My interview was taken by 2 alums (from 2007 and 2013 batch) and an admission committee member was also present with video and mic off.
The interview was majorly about my work experience, goals and contributions to the class of ISB. Major questions asked are as follows :
1. Tell us about yourself
2. Why did you choose to become a Chartered Accountant ?
3. What is accounting and what is your role as a Chartered Accountant ?
4. Tell us about the projects you handled and the way you helped your organisation increase revenue ?
5. Why MBA now and follow-up questions on it
6. What other roles are you aware of which ISB offers other than consulting ?
7. What will be your contributions to ISB ?
The interview lasted for around 30-35 minutes and was conversational in nature.
Would like to thank Strategy4gmat for helping me with my interview preparation. They gave me amazing and constructive feedbacks about the interview. Infact all the questions asked above were covered by them in detail. I enrolled for 3 mock interviews with Manan and his team.
All the best !!

The interview was with 2 alums, and an AdCom member (with his video & audio off the entire call). The interview was very smooth. Very very conversational. Questions asked:
1) Tell us about yourself.
2) Work instances for Biggest Challenge, Teamwork, and Conflict.
3) They drilled on the stories I gave. They wanted to make sure that the stories are real genuine and not made-up.
4) Why did you choose the unorthodox development sector after college, considering it doesn't pay much?
5) Why MBA? Why not MPP or MPH (because my long-term goal was related to public-health non-profits)?
6) You may be aware that consulting is a very tough goal. I'm sure you have a Plan B. What is your Plan B?
7) Another question on a story I mentioned in my essay.
8) Do you have any questions for us?
On a whole the interview went on for 45 minutes. I had a great time interviewing with the panel.
I prepared for the standard questions (from GMAT Club debriefs) on my own, and recited those answers while recording myself. I also prepared for Guesstimates and Case Study questions because a few debriefs mentioned that people with consulting goals can get those questions. None were asked in my interview though.
All the best!
