Interview was with 3 Alums. Had a friendly discussion around my profile and fit at ISB. Questions asked: 1. Started with questions about my goals. Went in detail. 2. Asked in detail about specific examples mentioned in essays. 3. Details about the achievements, extent of my role in team achievements. 4. Asked about my daily responsibilities at work. 5. Asked about a major challenge at work. 4. If there was one thing I could do if I went back in time, what would that be? 6. Questions about fit with ISB. Overall, it felt like the panel wanted to verify my conviction about my goals. #Shoutout to Strategy4Gmat team for their help in my interview preparation! The mentors (ISB alums themselves) were amazing! Their feedback was very specific and this helped me better portray myself in the interview. All the best to future applicants reading this.

1. Why MBA, Why Oxford, Why Now 2. Describe what you do on a daily basis on your current role 3. Are there specific electives/courses at Oxford that you’re particularly interested in 4. Describe your short term goal. How can Oxford help you secure your goal? 5. What’s your leadership style? How would your colleagues describe you? (This seems like a recurring theme) 6. Describe a time when you had to deal with a difficult colleague. 7. Have you researched on the OBNs and clubs at the different colleges? What are your extra curricular activities? (Although she did give a caveat that it’s ok if I hadn’t researched on the clubs) I was interviewed by a member of the Recruitment and Admissions Committee. The interview was originally scheduled for 30 minutes but it took almost an hour (including my 2 questions at the end). The overall vibe was very conversational and friendly.

3 panelists: 2 Alums, one from Co16 and one from Co19, and one from admissions team (mute and camera off throughout) Scheduled time: 10 AM; Actual Start time: 10.15 AM; Duration: 44 minutes I shall try to recall as much and put down questions/topics in bullets below: 1) Interview started off with they asking me any achievement I’d like to mention upfront 2) A little discussion on my job and interests 3) Why MBA 4) A long discussion about the Industry I am targeting 5) A discussion on one of the courses I had undertaken during my undergrad 6) Questions for the panel Overall, the interview was conversational and I think that knowing your resume in and out and being ready with any specifics, apart from the typical questions should make your interview experience comfortable. Also, for the interview prep, I’d taken help from strategy4gmat.com . The coaching session and the mock interviews with Manan and other ISB Alums were spot on in helping me for the actual interview.

My interview process was very smooth and it was over within 30-40 minutes. The interview was taken by Admissions Director and Career Executive. Major questions asked: 1. Introduce Yourself 2. Why MBA? Why Smith? 3. Post MBA goal? Follow-up question - how do you plan to land up a job? 4. Have you worked in a diverse setting? Follow-up question - what's the major challenge while working with teams from diverse backgrounds? 5. Have you connected with someone from Smith? 6. Have you received critical feedback and what did you do? 7. What challenges do you foresee when you start your program? These were the major questions asked. I personally feel that it is imp. to be well prepared so that you are confident while giving the interview. It worked well for me. I received an admit within 2 weeks. All the best everyone!!

ISB YLP Interview, 25 September'21 A panel of 2 alums both were from CO'19 (1 Male and 1 Female) The interview went on for 35 minutes and overall had a friendly yet engaging tone, nothing stressful of sorts. Some questions I can recall: 1) Tell me about yourself 2) Current role in my Job, and my work profile 3) Since I was a YLP applicant and recently started my job, I was questioned about the trainings I had to undergo at my workplace 4) I mentioned strategy consulting in my application, therefore I was asked why I wanted to go in consulting, a few cross-questions on my justification 5) Why ISB and why now 6) Follow up on the major skills required for a strategy consultant 7) Backup plan if consulting fails 8) Some behavioural questions (Basic HR questions) 9) Positions of responsibility I held during my college 9) Conflict of interest I faced during my time I held the positions 10) Tell us something that is not written in your application For the interview prep, I took help from Preppie, they reviewed my application thoroughly and then asked me all the questions that could be possibly asked based on my profile and application. They were quite accurate I would say, as a lot of questions that they asked me were similar to what the interviewers asked me based on my profile. The feedback they gave me after the interview was very thoughtful and it even helped me frame some of my answers better; also helped me in aligning my story with my goals more efficiently. I would recommend Preppie for anyone appearing for ISB interviews.

Had my open interview with a 2nd year via zoom for R1 admission. Really nice, lasted 60 minutes. 1. Walk me through your resume 2. What are your goals and why Fuqua (combined, took a bit of time to answer) 3. What in your experience makes for a good leader? 4. What has been your favorite leadership experience? 5. How will you improve your leadership skills at Fuqua? 6. How can you use the Fuqua network to create new opportunities (interesting one, hadn't seen it before) 7. How will you use your diversity to improve Fuqua (also interesting) I think one or two more, but can't remember now. Notably I wasn't asked about weaknesses, failures, or feedback. Lasted the full hour including my own questions. Overall very nice, and she responded to all my answers with more information on the program so I learned a lot as well. Made me excited to potentially join the program.

Three Panelist (Two from CO'2019 and one from CO'2013) In the beginning, interviewers introduced themselves and ask me to introduce myself. Q1) What has been the most challenging project you took care of in your second job.? Followed by various cross-questions to check my knowledge and actual involvement. Q2) How would you tackle those challenges differently today? Q3) What is the one thing that you are looking out for from ISB? Q4) What was your learning during your international experience? Q5) What were the challenges that you faced in multiple countries you worked in? Q6) How can businesses prepare themselves for upcoming uncertainties similar to COVID-19. Q7) Many questions around curriculum publishers as I have an ed-tech background. It was a conversational interview where they tried to understand the depth of knowledge I actually had. My interview lasted for an hour. Also, for my interview preparation, I took help from S4G that is run by Manan. His team has amazing mentors who are ISB alums and who took my mocks and gave me school/profile specific feedbacks that really helped in preparing for my interview.
