My interview was taken by a current second-year student with the same undergrad major as mine. My interviewer was 5-7 minutes late as he had some technical glitch at his end. The interviewer was super friendly and made me comfortable by chatting generally about the weather in Michigan and what was he up to during the week. He then gave a detailed introduction about himself and dived into the interview: - Tell me about yourself - How does an MBA fit into the picture? - Why an MBA now? - Why Ross? - Tell me about a time: - when suddenly things changed on a project - when you coached or mentored peer(s), basically someone who you didn't have any authority over - when you adapted to a different situation - when you worked with people from different background/upbringing and you had a difference in opinion - Any questions for me? He acknowledged my answers but did not cross-question any one of them. In the end, we talked about MAP, life in Ann Arbor, and photography. Our interview went on for ~50 minutes and overall it was a great experience! Please feel free to reach out to me in case of any questions.

Received interview invite 6 days before the interview Scheduled Interview Time: 10 AM (Interview began 10 mins late) Platform: Zoom Panel: 3 alumni from E-commerce, retail and product management background. The panel members were friendly and were looking to have a conversation and understand about different aspects of my application. The following were the key aspects that my interview revolved around: -Tell us about yourself -About the work experience, challenging situation at work and the example that I mentioned in my essay and some probing into the same -About my work achievements and hobbies -Short term goals and a case study related to same -Finally, Why you? -Any questions for us? Overall it went for around 40 minutes and the alums were really interested in understanding various aspects of my application deeper. As I started my application late, I took help from Strategy4Gmat. They have an excellent team of ISB alumni. Manan worked with me and helped me get a better clarity of my goals and draft a wonderful application. They also provided help for preparing for my interviews. I sat for 3 mock interviews with 3 different ISB alumni from S4G team. I was interviewed by the Ad-com member and a member from the careers team. It was a straight forward and a friendly interview and they were primarily trying to understand a bit more about how will I achieve my post MBA goal and what all have I researched about it. They had read my essays and my resume thoroughly before the interview. 1. Give a background of your profile. 2. Why MBA and why MBA now? 3. Why NUS and what are your post MBA goals? 4. What all do you plan to do at NUS to achieve your post MBA goals? 5. Where else have you applied and what was the rationale of applying to the other schools that I mentioned? 6. I had mentioned investment banking as my short term goal post MBA. The member from careers told me its very competitive to get a full-time offer in Singapore. So what will be my plan incase IB in Singapore doesn't work out. 7. I had explained in my optional essay about a break in my career 3 years ago. They asked the reason for the break and what did I do during that time. What did I learn from the things that I did during the break? 8. I had mentioned an instance of leadership in my resume. They asked me a bit more about the situation and how I handled it 9. They asked me if I was able to get all the information I needed from their website? (Probably they were just taking a feedback) 10. Lastly they asked if I had any questions for them. Overall it felt like a conversation. They told they me that will get back to me between mid-end of February.

I got an interview invite on 31st Jan'21. The interview happened on 6th Feb, 3 PM. The call started on time but I was admitted at 3.10, probably because the alums were discussing my application. 3 alums took my interview, whose industry experience was similar to mine and my goals, mentioned in the application. One of them works in a management consulting firm, currently on a social-impact project, very similar to my goals of working in a development consulting role. The other two had technology and engineering backgrounds, like me. The interview focused on my goals, work-experience, Why MBA, Why ISB etc. 1. Tell us about yourself. 2. Why MBA so soon after just completing an educational experience (I just graduated from the Young India Fellowship in June 2020) 3. Current work experience 4. Challenging situation faced and how did you overcome it. 5. What have you learnt from your past work experience that helped you in this role. 6. Goals. What next after MBA? 7. Trends and challenges in the soial sector. 8. What traits do you have that will help you keep up with the rigorous curriculum at ISB 9. Example of a situation where you worked in a team. 10. What do you bring/contribute to the class at ISB? 11. One thing you learnt from the COVID pandemic and everything that happened in the past year. The interview was around 30 mins in total. It was very relaxed and conversational and the alums were very polite and encouraging. Though, it went deep into my goals and work experience and my story. I took interview preparation help from Strategy4Gmat. Manan worked with me, providing me with guidance and counselling for the various directions the interview could go in. I also sat for 3 mock interviews with ISB alums, part of the S4G team. The experience was very helpful for the final day. Totally recommend S4G to anyone looking for B-School mentorship and interview preparation.

I had an interview with a representative of the MBS Career Management Center. Mostly, her purpose was to introduce the opportunities of their career center and to make sure that their approach to the career development corresponds to my intentions. The typical questions were: - Tell how you came to the MBA application? - Why MBA? - Why MBS? - Which market sector you wish to specialize in? An interesting question – which transitional skills do you have? The interviewer made it clear that Australian job market is very tough and doesn’t have a type of “MBA-jobs”, which are common for the US and Europe. Australian companies pay more attention to the candidate’s experience and skills than to the degree. So, if you are planning to develop your career within the local job market, MBA is not the only key to the hearts of Australian employers. Also, after the lockdown of the 2020 any skills related to the changing market reality are especially essential. All the interview is supposed to find out if you know why you wish to get an MBA and how detailed was your research on the desired program and country, including visa opportunities, job market, and other programs/schools. It is always useful to talk to the alumni and current students before the interview, so you can get a better insight and understand if this program fits your objectives. The interview took 30 minutes as planed due to the busy schedule of the interviewer. So, prepare to be concise in your answers.

Here are the questions asked to me: Interview time: 40 mins Can you tell us about your professional experience? What do you like the most in your job? Explain one of the projects that you have recently worked on? What are your long-term and short-term goals? What is Plan B? Why do you want to come to Foster? What are your contributions? Tell me about a time when you had to influence your manager? Tell me about a time when you had received constructive feedback? If you are not a team leader, how would you contribute to the team? The time when you had to give a presentation that you haven't prepared for? What are you most passionate about outside work? Do you have any questions for us?

Duration: 55 mins Questions asked: Why MBA? Why Ross? Why now? Tell me about a situation when - you received harsh feedback from your manager - you were on a project whose scope drastically changed - you witnessed cultural differences with someone There were also a few questions specific to my profile, short-term goal, and long-term goal. Overall, the interviewer was really sweet and had a similar background to mine so he made me feel at ease. Please feel free to PM me, if I can help out any other prospective candidate giving interviews this week or next. Happy to do a mock as well. Best of luck to you all! Virtual interview with Alumni. The interviewer seemed to be busy as this was in the middle of the work day. We began 10 minutes after the scheduled time and dived straight into the questions. 1.) Walk me through your resume (Surprisingly very little follow-up on my resume/education) 2.) Why MBA + Why Ross ? (He asked why MBA first and after I answered he asked me some follow-up questions which eventually led us to why Ross) 3.) Some follow up questions on the industry I want to go in following my MBA and why an MBA is the best option to make the transition 4.) Tell me about a time you had to adapt to a situation? (Answered once but he asked for another example, after giving him 2 examples he also asked for a personal situation where I had to do this) 5.) Tell me about a time you had to convince someone a.) Superior b.) Peer c.) Junior (Again asked for a personal example)? 6.) Tell me about a time you hit rock-bottom/failed? 7.) Tell me about a time you worked in a global setting? The interviewer was friendly and tried his best to put me at ease. He did not seem to be very chatty though (maybe because he was busy). He took detailed notes. One take away from me would be to not focus only on professional stories for the behavioral questions, my interviewer pressed me for personal examples.

Interviewed by a second-year student. Lasted for about 30 minutes. Very friendly and structured. Started off with his introduction and explain to me how the interview is structured. Questions were 1) "So tell me, who is X?" - Replace X with your name. There was a follow-up question to this. 2) "What does a leader mean to you?". This was followed up with another question. 3) "Tell me about a time when you had to deal with failure or challenging time at work" 4) "Why MBA" 5) "Why Rice" 6) "Any questions for me" He was taking notes on his computer all along and also informed me about this. He kept himself on mute while typing so that I don't get distracted.

Profile GMAT: 690 WE: 63 Sector: Education/General Management Interview date 6th February. 10 am. No of panelists : 3 (2 friendly, 1 neutral) The interview started 10 minutes late. I was not surprised by this based on other interview debriefs and after speaking to a few alums. It started off with a round of quick introductions. Questions: - Walk us through your experience focussed on the most recent job you have had. - What were the KPIs for this job - Were there any transferable skills you used from your previous job in the current job - What were the biggest skills you gained through this job - Why ISB/MBA? - What is your short term and long term goal? - What is your plan B if plan A doesn’t work? - Do you have any questions for us? Overall the interview lasted just about 20 minutes and most questions were expected because I did a few mock interviews and worked on possible answers. Didn’t expect the KPI question. Interview morning prep: I went on a run and meditated before the interview. Still I was a little nervous and felt I rushed into a few answers. Will have to wait and see. Week of the interview prep: Framed answers for common questions. I did mock interviews with preppie.in. This was super helpful. I got actionable feedback in a structured way which helped me iron out some of the rough edges without affecting my confidence. The call with the alum went on for 60 minutes longer than the 45 minutes I scheduled as we got talking about a lot of tips and tricks to do better in the interview. They also followed up after the interview to see how things went. Highly recommend.

Received interview invite 4 days before the interview Scheduled Interview Time: 12 Noon Platform: Zoom (Meeting details got updated on the portal) Panel: 2M 1F (all alums; did not provide details beyond names; one spoke about his graduation year - was recent as far as I recall). There was an AdCom member as well (no questions from him; video was off as well) My profile: Analytics Consulting (1st-time applicant; 18 months until Dec'20; EEO Applicant; Round 2; IT Engineer; Non IIT/NIT/BITS; GMAT 750; Decent ECs in college; Taught Maths and Phys. to 11th and 12th students; IT Engg - 8.15/10; 12th PCM - 84.48; Post MBA Goals - Strategy Consulting) I received a call from an ISB AdCom member at ~12:20 PM. He told me that the previous interview was still going on and mine would start at around 12:35 - 12:45 PM. The interview began at 12:35~. The panel was very friendly and mentioned that this will be genera discussion so please do not take any stress. The very first question was regarding my take on the Healthcare budget (I'm assuming that is because I come from that industry). I spoke mostly about the positives and mentioned a couple of shortcomings in the end. Then there was a follow-up question on the budget - they wanted my opinion on a certain aspect. Post that, I was asked about 3 challenges that I face at work. There was a short follow-up and they asked me to give an example of one of the challenges (they specified which one). The discussion then shifted to my post-MBA goals (why consulting specifically, why not a start-up, what drives you, why not stay in the same company). There were a couple of questions (not directly though) regarding why ISB and a minor cross-discussion regarding online courses with a similar structure. I touched-down upon points regarding the course structure, diverse peer group, the case-based program, how ISB ties in very well to my post-MBA goals and career aspirations etc. There was a follow-up question regarding what I would want to take/gain from the diverse people that come to ISB. There was one in-direct comparison (not b/w b-schools overall, but something that other b-schools also offer). I believe all these points tie to the fact that I was not asked the "why ISB" directly. We also discussed the cost-factor (they mentioned it a couple of times). There was also a discussion around my hobbies (I did to have a lot of them - had mentioned long-drives along with two others). There was a good ~3-minute discussion around driving (why I love driving on highways and not city/town roads). There was a guesstimate a couple of minutes before the interview ended (I also got an opportunity to speak about my stint at teaching mathematics and physics here). They asked me if I had any questions for them and I asked one (one alum answered). Overall, I felt that the alums were really interested in listening to what I wanted to say. For my interview preparation, I took help from ISBMantra (overall guidance + mocks) and Team Preppie (1 mock). Preppie - to the point questions and detailed feedback - gave ideas to improve and speak about a couple of specific things. ISBMantra - overall guidance regarding my career goals and how I can position my thoughts, work-ex and ECs, to the point questions in my mocks and detailed feedback and ideas to improve. Both the teams have been really wonderful in their own ways :)

1)tell me about your hobbies 2)tell me about your time at your company 3)what kind of person are you - a team leader or a team member 4)have you had any experience travelling internationally. If not do you have any experience across different cultures. 5)what is your short term goal 6)what is your back up plan incase the plan doesn’t go as expected 7)why do you want to come to Simon 8)do you have any questions for me The interview was really casual and chilled. I asked the interviewer if there were any teaching opportunities in Rochester where I could help underprivileged section and if the school provided opportunities to students to help faculties with their research as Simon is a research based school. I also asked her if my understanding of the school was correct and if I had misunderstood anything. The problem is I was under the impression that the interview was an hour long as my invite was for 1 hour. So all my answers were prepared accordingly. I am worried if the interviewer felt I was rambling on. It’s difficult to guage the interviewers reaction if you are looking at the camera.

"Walk me through your resume" "Why do you believe an MBA is right for you" "Why are you pursuing an MBA now" "Why are you applying to Simon" "How do you see yourself contributing to Simon" "How does your undergraduate major contribute to your sought out profession? How will an MBA help you with this?" "What are your short-term and long-term goals" "What are your target companies post-MBA?" "What is your back-up plan if you cannot get into your target companies?" "Have you had any multi-cultural experiences or international travel during your professional career?" "Do you know any data programming tools?" (If you do not know any, learn some or show you are in the process of learning. Very critical.) "Do you have any questions for me?" My experience: Overall the interview was one of the most conversational interviews I had. The AdCom member was extremely nice and genuinely wanted to get to know me better and my motivation to pursue an MBA. The interviewer did not seem to be disengaged at all and reciprocated everything I discussed. Overall, the interview was intended to last 30 minutes, but found ourselves talking for 48 minutes. Just be yourself, don't hide anything, smile, and utilize those interpersonal skills! Advice: Know your resume well, there is a possibility they will ask you to highlight a certain bullet point which you might have. Prepare anecdotes about professional and non-professional experiences Do heavy research on the university to show your commitment to their program (ex. clubs, career centers, culture) Show up 5 minutes early before interview, they will not permit you to join online interview any earlier. Dress Professionally Good luck on your interviews!

I just had my interview yesterday with a 2nd year student. He was extremely friendly helpful and the interview was like a chat between friends. 30 minutes for the entire interview. Questions were quite typical: - Walk through resume - Why Anderson - Future career plan, short- and long-term - What I could contribute to Anderson - Tell about a time working in a diverse team He was very nice not interrupting me when I was rambling about my plan. Very cool guy. We had great discussion about healthcare industry at the end of the interview. Hope you guys will have great performance.
