Although my EPGP interview was scheduled at 9:30 A.M., it got delayed by over 25 minutes due to technical issues. The panellists were two professors from the institute – one senior lady professor (P1) and one younger male professor (P2). P1 apologized to me for the delay and jumped right into my profile by asking me to introduce myself, the company I work for and the role that I am in. She was curious to know how much of my role involved interacting directly with the client and how much of it was actual development oriented. She went onto ask about my company’s employee strength, revenue and about our competitors. Upon hearing my answer, she posted a counter question on why I don’t consider companies like Infosys, Cognizant as my company’s competitors as they also make similar systems. My answer to this was that the difference between a product and a custom developed system is its larger roadmap, the evolution of its capabilities and its potential for growth given its generic nature. She seemed satisfied with the answer. P2 picked up the line in my job responsibilities where I had mentioned that I am a part of the firm’s Internal Complaints Committee for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) team and started quizzing me on the POSH process in my firm. He gave me a few scenarios and asked me how the firm would handle it. There were quite a few instances where he seemed to disagree or seemed disappointed with my answer or cross questioned me, but I knew my firm’s policies well and was able to justify my stand. He later went onto ask me if I was aware of the Vishakha Guidelines to which I responded in the negative. I mentioned that I had only attended internal trainings on this subject matter. In many parts of this conversation, P2 cross-questioned me aggressively, but I kept my cool and voiced my opinion while acknowledging and sympathizing with his concerns. P1 did interrupt in between to ask for certain clarifications. I felt that I had put up a good case overall and this was the end of the Q & A with P2. P1 then asked me about my post MBA plans which I was able to put forward very clearly. Post this they asked me if I had any questions for them and I took this opportunity to ask them about the new developments around EPGP accommodations on campus. They were happy to correct my understanding and provide their opinion on the same and the session ended with me thanking them for their time and the usual greetings.

My interview lasted a little bit over 30 minutes and was very conversational. After every answer, she would affirm or clarify any of my statements (e.g. yes, you will definitely get that from Rotman, etc.) 1. Walk me through your CV 2. Why Rotman? 3. What are your post-MBA goals? 4. What was your biggest accomplishment in your organization? 5. Tell me about a time that you failed. 6. If you were granted a spot in our MBA program, what would you do in 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year? 6. What other MBA programs are you looking into? 7. If you had 3 wishes for Rotman, what would they be? 8. Do you have any questions for me? I only got to ask one question at the end since a lot of them were already addressed during the follow-up discussions. Thanks, everyone for sharing your debriefs as well. Truly helpful!

1. Introduce yourself. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why Ross? Why an MBA? Why now? 3. Tell me about a time when you didn't like leadership's direction? What did you do? 4. Tell me about a time when you had to make a quick decision? What were the results? 5. If you could change one thing with the world what would it be? 6. Questions for me? Interview was a MBA2 current student. Super nice! Very conversational. If anything else, as long as you know your background inside and out, know a few powerful stories with numerical results, use the STAR method, and know why Ross specifically you will be all set. Lasted 40 minutes. Also, it helps to research your interviewer and get to know them for catered questions at the end. They will be impressed. Only thing interviewer sees is your resume; they have not seen your app. Ross will release decisions on 3/17 I believe. Good luck to all!

Interviewed for MBAi program. It was with adcom member and scheduled for 30min. But it lasted 35min. First, she introduced herself and thanked me for staying late as it was midnight. Then she explained the interview expectations and the flow of the interview. It was very interactive with some followup questions. I guess, she wanted to know the fit in the class. Here are the questions asked: 1. Walk me through your CV starting from undergraduate. 2. Explain in details your job, responsibilities and achievements. I worked in 3 different countries so there were followup questions on eqch role and learning. 3. Tell me your leadership style and how you lead the team. 4. Example of a conflict and how you resolved it. What were your learnings. 5. Your profile is interesting and you have worked in a diverse environment. Could you give some examples ot diversity, collaboration, teamwork, etc. 6. Why MBA and why now 7. Why kellogg 8. Your ST goal and how kellogg fits in the picture. 9. Your backup plan 10. What was the most challenging assignment you have done and your learning from it. 11. There were some questions regarding the extracurriculars which i mentioned in CV. She wanted to know more about it. 12. How you evolved in life through your personal and professional experiences Lastly she spared some time to ask questions. I asked couple of questions and for one question she said that she will enquire about it and come back to me. She replied about that question within 2hr post-interview. In the end, she gave her email id incase if I have any question in future. I was surprised by this because I was not expecting this. Overall it was a very good experience

I was interviewed by Ms. Alana Woods, current student from part time MBA program. The questions were pretty standard. It was a blind interview which means she did not have my application or resume with her. 1) - A brief introduction about myself. 2) - Why MBA from BU. 3) - A situation where I resolved a conflict between my team. 4) - One achievement of my professional career so far. 5) - My short term and long term career goals. 6) - How do I like to spend my weekend. At the end, she asked me if I had any questions for her. Please remember to prepare atleast 3 "smart" questions in advance. Don't ask about the stuff which can be easily found on the internet. Essentially, they are trying to get to know us as much as they can through these questions because BU, like many other US universities , follows the concept of blind interview (to have two different sets of eyes evaluating every applicant).

Much in line with the other debriefs. I was asked to share my story in chronological order starting with school, then undergrad, then resume. How an MBA fits into the picture and why Darden. A few follow-up behavioral questions in between and finally, what else I do outside my professional life. Since it is a monologue more or less, I'd recommend taking pauses in between for them to ask any questions. They don't want to know every detail obviously, so pick the highlights of your story that really add to your candidacy's narrative.

I was interviewed by an adcom member. The interview layout is pretty simple and in line with the debriefs online. I was asked the following questions: 1) Tell me about yourself (went on for 10-15 mins) 2) Why MBA? Why at this point of time? 3) Why Darden? Questions that were new to me but are the pretty standard behavioral questions 4) What have you done to have inclusion and diversity in your team? 5) How have you ensured a flat hierarchy within your team? That's it. Overall the experience was pretty good. It was almost like having a conversation with a stranger.
