Hi Samuel
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with a 2.72 GPA and four years of CPG experience, you’re entering the Haas R2 pool with both strengths and clear challenges. The GPA will absolutely need to be offset through a strong test score, evidence of quantitative ability at work, and supplemental coursework.

On the positive side, CPG roles often come with solid operational, cross-functional, and leadership exposure, AdComs at Haas values applicants who can show impact, initiative, and a mission-driven mindset. Your chances will depend heavily on the depth of your achievements, promotions, leadership stories, and any community involvement you can highlight.

To give you a more accurate read, could you share details on your test score plans, your role progression, key accomplishments, and any extracurricular or volunteering experience?

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a strong foundation for your target schools. A T20 GPA of 3.7, nearly 5 years in tech consulting at a Big 4, and real depth in product management + human-centered design. That combination is especially attractive to Haas, Sloan, and Kellogg, all of whom love candidates who sit at the intersection of tech, design thinking, and problem-solving.

Your involvement in pro-bono consulting and internal initiatives shows community orientation, which matters a lot at GSB and Kellogg. Strong LORs from M7 grads also help, not because of their degrees but because they likely understand what top schools want and can frame your leadership impact well. The biggest lever now is how sharply you position your narrative, tie together tech consulting to human-centered design to emerging AI work to a clear post-MBA consulting vision. With polished essays, you’ll be competitive across your list.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile actually tells a pretty coherent story for schools like Booth, Wharton, Sloan, and even HBS, strong GMAT, 8 years of experience, and a clear pivot into public-sector finance. Your early healthcare finance work + a Master’s in Education + 5+ years in public-sector consulting with three promotions creates a rare mix that AdComs at these programs truely value, especially for candidates targeting government/education leadership roles.

The key will be framing your path not as a scatter of sectors, but as a deliberate build toward managing large-scale public finance systems. What may matter most is showing why now, what skill gaps the MBA fills, and how your consulting outcomes tie directly to your post-MBA plans. Schools looking for mission-driven, impact-focused candidates will see a strong fit if your application is positioned well.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Great GRE score! 👍 and it is positive that your focus is staying on consulting after doing 4 years of consulting - building on top of what you have is always positive.
Your chances will really be decided by how you can put yourself above and beyond your peers - other consultants, other folks who have worked for 4 years, etc. So look at the things you have done at work (and outside) and ask yourself - am I the 1% or top 5% or top 10% of my company or potential applicants? If not, how can I get there (at least on the resume and in the essays, which I don't mean making things up or lying - AdCom has seen plenty of that) but rather how do I impress and demonstrate proven track record, clear achievements and a pattern of success and going above and beyond of what my peers would have done.

This may mean doing projects better, higher quality, or more but this can also mean doing things outside of work - e.g. startup ideas, volunteering with significant impact, etc. Things such as promotions, recognition and awards help.

I bring 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing and operations, most recently as General Manager at Independent Stave Company, where I led P&L for a $102MM business and turned around two underperforming facilities from significant monthly losses to sustained profitability. My roles have spanned operations, quality, supply chain, procurement, and cross-functional leadership across multiple U.S. sites, managing teams of 175+ employees.

Earlier, as Quality Assurance Manager supporting $535MM in annual revenue across three cooperages, I standardized QMS systems, reduced defects, strengthened audit readiness, and built scalable processes for new facilities. My foundation was built in quality engineering and process improvement—Lean, Kaizen, CAPA, and Six Sigma—before progressing into broader business leadership.

Academically, my journey reflects resilience and strong upward momentum. I completed my B.Tech with a 5.32 GPA, shaped by a period of personal loss and caregiving responsibilities. I later earned my MS in Technology Management with a 3.71 GPA, along with a Merit Scholarship and a Teaching Excellence Award, demonstrating my true academic capability when in a stable environment.

I started my career in business development, leading go-to-market execution for eight colleges and exceeding sales targets for four consecutive quarters.

My post-MBA goal is to transition into management consulting—operations, transformation, and growth strategy—before focusing on emerging-market SMEs in South Asia and the MENA region, where improved operational and financial discipline can unlock significant economic value.

Passionate about people development, operational excellence, and community impact, I hope to bring the same resilience and analytical rigor to an MBA program and the consulting path ahead.

Hi Nayan
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a differentiated profile for an Indian applicant. Your 7+ years in U.S. manufacturing leadership, full P&L responsibility for a $102M business, and turning around two failing plants are all huge strengths that can work well in your favor. Very few ORM applicants bring this level of real-world operational ownership and people leadership.

Your GRE further strengthens the academic side. The combination of turnaround stories, cross-functional expertise - quality to supply chain to GM, and measurable impact gives you a strong narrative for consulting goals. At M7 schools, your non-traditional background is a plus, not a drawback. Your biggest job now is framing your story around resilience, upward trajectory, and leadership at scale.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Thanks for sharing your profile, @Nayan Chavda. You’ve built a nice turnaround-ops profile. For consulting-focused MBAs, you’re not the typical Indian applicant; that is an advantage. GRE 334, ~98th percentile. That’s nice, competitive for H/S/W/M7. GPA 3.71 (MS), with a scholarship + teaching award, shows good recent academic performance. A 5.32 undergrad GPA(with serious personal circumstances) is a weakness, but you have: a clear upward trajectory, a compelling, genuine reason, and a good master’s + GRE to offset it. Handled properly in an optional essay, this is mitigable. ~8 years by matriculation, general manager with P&L for a $102M business, multi-site responsibility, 175+ employees, turned around two loss-making plants > sustained profitability, previous QA Manager for $535M revenue, standardized QMS, reduced defects, built scalable systems, and earlier business dev role, consistent overperformance. This is dream material for operations/turnaround/implementation-heavy consulting schools love.

Big picture, your substance can be in a good range for Booth, Wharton, Kellogg, Darden, Fuqua, and Haas. Harvard is still a reach for everyone, but you absolutely belong in that pool.

Strengths you should lean into: Big leadership & P&L at a relatively young age, 175+ employees, site turnaround, multi-million dollar improvements; this is not typical. Operations + quality + BD story, you’ve touched quality, supply chain, operations, procurement, and sales > perfect foundation for operations/transformation consulting. Authentic academic comeback story, undergrad: caregiving + personal loss >low GPA. Later: MS 3.71, merit scholarship, teaching excellence, 334 GRE. This is a compelling resilience narrative if told humbly and clearly. Emerging-market SME angle: the long-term goal in South Asia/MENA SMEs can be a differentiator and believable given your ops background.

Things you shall manage: GPA; emphasize the responsibility you took, how you improved, and what changed. Avoid sounding like you’re blaming only the circumstances; show growth and agency. Over-indexing on “operations guy” without showing structured thinking, consulting firms & schools want to see you can zoom out: strategy, markets, org design, not just process fixes. Essays should highlight times you shaped strategy, not just efficiency.

If you’d like, you can also explore other schools such as INSEAD, LBS 1-year), Tepper, or McCombs.

R2 is fine, but competition is stiff at top schools, especially for consulting, so make the narrative more coherent. Collect 3-4 flagship stories (CAR format), 2 plant turnarounds (profitability, safety, quality, morale). a major QMS/process transformation, a people-development story (coaching, culture shift, etc.).

For LORs, select people who can speak directly about P&L impact, strategic thinking, and leading people through change.

Questions for you to reflect upon:
1) Which geography do you want post-MBA (US only vs also open to Europe/Middle East)?
2) Any specific firms (MBB vs Tier-2, e.g., Bain, BCG, McKinsey vs Strategy, etc.)?
3) Of your turnaround stories, which one had the biggest change in people's morale/culture, not just numbers?

We’d love to learn more about your academics, extracurriculars, work experience, and personal journey so we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and honest school assessment. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Cheers!

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a very strong profile for finance-focused MBA programs. A 775 GMAT puts you in the top tier of all applicants, and pairing that with 6 years at JP Morgan, plus CFA + CFP, makes you extremely compelling for investment management tracks.

Your advisory background gives you solid client-facing, analytical, and portfolio exposure, and your leadership touchpoints help round out the profile. The church leadership work also adds community involvement and maturity - something that your target schools value. The biggest thing to sharpen is your story- why shift from wealth advisory to IM/CorpFin and how your MBA bridges that pivot.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with 6 years of experience, you actually bring a strong professional foundation, but the GPA will definitely be a hurdle at the schools on your list, especially Kellogg, Columbia, Yale, Ross, and Stern, where academics are a major filter.

You will need a very strong GMAT/GRE to counterbalance that, plus sharp essays explaining your trajectory and academic readiness. Your work experience in procurement is relevant and valued, especially for programs strong in operations and leadership like Darden, Fuqua, Broad, Owen, and Tepper, where your profile is more aligned and realistic. Execution + test score will play a crucial role.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Thanks for sharing your profile @MadelineB98! You’ve got a good core (UT Austin, Boeing, 5–6 years in supply chain/procurement, female candidate), but your GPA and lack of a test score (yet) are the big variables for the schools you’ve listed. A strong test score is absolutely critical to balance the 2.9 GPA. Your list is almost all top-15 US schools. With a 2.9 GPA, you will need a high test score (GMAT FE 675+ / GRE 325+), and they can become “reachable with a great story”. You can read this blog: Navigating Low GMAT/GPA Scores in MBA Applications

Given your background in procurement + Boeing, you can be aligned with: Ross, Darden, Fuqua, Tepper, Broad, operations/supply chain/leadership-heavy cultures.

Explain the GPA (if there’s a story). If there are real reasons (working a lot, illness, family issues, bad first year, but upward trend), use the optional essay briefly and factually. Highlight any strong later-term grades, quant courses, or post-grad coursework. Show leadership in the supply chain. Don’t undersell yourself as “just a procurement agent.” Focus on:Cost savings, negotiations, supplier strategy, cross-functional work with engineering/finance/ops, any mentoring/leading initiatives, even informally.

A few questions for you to reflect upon:
1) Do you have a target function post-MBA? (Ops consulting, internal strategy, supply chain leadership, procurement, etc.)
2) Have you already taken any practice tests for GMAT/GRE? If so, what rough range are you scoring in?
3) Any upward trend in your undergraduate grades ( stronger junior/senior years)?

We’d love to learn more about your academics, extracurriculars, work experience, and personal journey so we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and honest school assessment. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with 3 years of VC experience and a 3.15 GPA, you bring an interesting industry background but will need stronger academic or test signals to be competitive at Ross. VC is a niche and valued pre-MBA path, especially if you’ve sourced deals, supported portfolio companies, or worked closely with partners, but the AdComs will want evidence of analytical rigor, leadership, and impact.

Your post-MBA goal of transitioning into tech is feasible, but the clarity of your story and the strength of your recommendations will matter a lot. To give a more accurate assessment, it would help to know your test score (GMAT/GRE), specifics of your VC responsibilities, leadership examples, and extracurricular involvement.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you actually look well aligned for MiM programs like INSEAD, LBS, HEC, ESSEC, and Imperial. Your B.Com + 8.4 GPA + LSE summer school already give you a solid academic base. Your internships across Deloitte audit, PE, e-commerce, and your family business add good diversity, though depth of impact will matter more than the number of roles.

Your e-commerce division + real estate involvement show initiative, which these schools like. Strengthen your story by highlighting concrete results from your internships and business work- clarity of goals + evidence of leadership will be key since you’re coming straight from undergrad.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Thanks Priyanka! Do you think my gmat score will be a barrier or my GPA would compensate for a marginally lower score?

After graduating with a Bachelor's in Social Work, I worked as an Immigration Paralegal for over a year, where I handled case preparation, facilitated client communication, and conducted legal research and document drafting. I took about a year off to re-focus on myself and figure out my career path when I discovered a passion and budding interest in global business and consulting. Currently, I work as a client consultant at a mathematics education center, advising prospective and current clients on our products and helping with their choices on how to proceed with their education.
