Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I see a strong and distinctive profile. A Vietnamese female in tech with global exposure already puts you in a rare and attractive demographic for top MBA programs. Your GPA and solid experience show both analytical strength and leadership potential. The promotion in your startup role adds credibility, and your involvement in building and leading a 4K-member Product & UX community is a big differentiator, it highlights initiative, communication, and real impact beyond your day job.

Your extracurricular as an ultra-trail runner adds an interesting personal dimension, it reflects grit, discipline, and endurance, qualities AdComs love seeing. The GMAT is a bit on the lower side for LBS and Cambridge, but your GPA, cross-border experience and strong career trajectory will help offset that, especially if your essays and recommendations are sharp.

Focus your essays on how your product experience connects to your future leadership goals in tech, emphasize your ability to bridge user experience, business strategy, and tech innovation.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Feel free to connect- Click here
You can also email me your CV at: [email protected]

Also, if you’re working on your essays, Jenifer’s upcoming Coffee Session on “Mastering the 3 ‘Why’ Questions” (Why MBA, Why Now, Why This School) could be really useful - it’s all about shaping a clear, authentic MBA story that connects your experiences and goals effectively.

Good Luck!

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I see a solid and well-structured foundation for deferred MBA programs. Your GPA in a commerce program with co-op experience already puts you in a strong academic position, and your GMAT score is also decent. Your mix of co-op terms at the CRA and Brookfield Renewable gives you a nice blend of public sector analytical experience and corporate exposure, which shows versatility and maturity.

Your volunteering with the Certified Listeners Society and involvement with the Taiwanese Student Association adds a good community and leadership touch, something deferred programs weigh heavily since applicants have limited work experience. For your essays, focus on showing clarity of goals — why investment management, what specific skills you want to build before your MBA, and how your early experiences sparked that interest. AdComs love to see direction and reflection at this stage.

You’ve got the right mix of academics, international exposure, and early leadership involvement, just make sure your essays show personal drive and how the deferred MBA fits into your long-term plan.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Tell a little more about yourself- what are your achievements / impact at work and through ECAs? What do you want to do post MBA? Do you work in UAE or do you work with a UAE based company with your base in India (that will make a big difference at INSEAD).

Hello!

Your profile looks very solid overall — a Chartered Accountant with a strong academic record (9.58 GPA), valuable international exposure (India + UAE), and experience in a Big 4 firm forms a great base for top MBA programs. Your volunteering experience adds well-roundedness and demonstrates community engagement — a definite positive.

With your current background, ISB, INSEAD, and LBS appear to be strong fits, especially if you can articulate your consulting experience and leadership impact effectively. To further strengthen your competitiveness, we’d recommend aiming for a strong GMAT score, which can also open doors to HEC Paris and other top-tier European programs.

Overall, you have an excellent foundation — with the right GMAT and a focused application strategy, your profile can be very competitive across global schools.

If you’d like a detailed profile evaluation, we’d be happy to help you map out your next steps and refine your school list. Please reach out to us at [email protected]
or via LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/naikhemal.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks strong and well-rounded. Being a CA with Big 4 risk advisory experience already puts you in a solid spot for your target schools. Your academic record also looks strong. The international exposure in the UAE adds a nice global element, which AdComs at schools like INSEAD and HEC value a lot.

The volunteering work adds some balance to your professional story and shows social awareness, though you could build a bit more leadership depth outside of work if time allows. With a strong GMAT/GRE and clear post-MBA goals, you’ll be a competitive applicant. You will also have to focus on connecting your consulting experience to your long-term vision.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Your profile is like a well-built foundation that only needs the right finishing touches. Instead of listing achievements, pick a few specific moments that highlight your leadership and impact. When your essay tells that story with genuine emotion, the admissions team will remember you. For me, mastering each stage in https://drift-boss.pro drift boss feels the same way, every small step brings confidence and patience toward a bigger goal.

Hi Noddy,

Your profile is exceptional — a combination of strong academic excellence, leadership, and global exposure. An 8.76 GPA from IIT Kharagpur, along with your incoming Associate role at BCG and diverse internships across consulting, finance, and research (Columbia, McMaster, Weekday AI), reflect outstanding analytical depth and versatility.

Your achievements — including Institute Order of Merit, global case competition wins, and entrepreneurial experience as a Co-Founder — position you strongly for top programs like Harvard, Wharton, and Stanford, as well as European options such as HEC Paris and INSEAD.

Given the ultra-competitive nature of these schools, a high GMAT score (ideally 740+ or 90th+ percentile in GMAT Focus) will be key to strengthening your already stellar profile and aligning it with M7 standards.

You’re clearly on an excellent trajectory toward your goals in Private Equity and Global Finance. We’d be happy to help refine your story, identify key themes for your essays, and tailor your strategy across your target schools.

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks strong on the surface. You’ve got strong academics and a diverse set of experiences across countries and industries, that alone will grab attention. The mix of running your own translation business, working as a CFO in Sicily, and becoming a CMO with equity in Iceland shows real versatility and leadership.

Your GMAT score also falls within range for your target programs. Your passion for finance and investing makes sense given your background, but you should focus on sharpening your post-MBA goals. AdComs like to see a clear story connecting your past to your future.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

@Rtct - some further details can help assess your profile better:

1. What's your undergrad university/ pedigree, and GMAT/ GRE score?

2. On the professional front, which companies have you worked in, across which roles? And have there been any promotions?

3. Anything on the extracurriculars front?

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a great starting point with that GPA. The Tech MBA at NYU is designed for professionals who already have a solid foundation in technology and are looking to blend it with business and leadership skills, so you’re likely in the right lane. Since you’ve got around 4 years of work experience, the next big thing adcoms will look at is impact, how you have led projects, driven innovation and solved complex problems at scale.

Focus on highlighting
1. Leadership in tech
2. Cross-functional collaboration
3. Clear post-MBA goals tied to the tech ecosystem.

To give a proper evaluation, it’d be helpful if you could share about your undergrad major and school attended. What kind of roles/projects have you handled in your tech career so far? Any leadership, entrepreneurship, or community involvement outside work? Update about your GMAT/GRE and mock scores?

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

I am a 27 year old female with a Masters in Economics, with 4 years and 3 months of work experience in Media analytics and consulting, mostly in Market Mix Modeling. I work directly with South American (Brazil, Argentina and Chile) stakeholders and in the past I have also had experience working with USA and UK clients. I have recently won an award in office for outstanding performance within 2 months of joining a new team. Alongside work, I engage into community work - teaching underprivileged kids in remote rural areas during Covid, cancer prevention fund raising for Global Cancer Concern and as a Climate Activist under UNFCCC. Apart from this, I had consistent proficiency and top 3 rank in academics right through my academic life. I have recognitions in debates and various public speaking competitions, a bachelor’s degree in Classical music and numerous team activities and event organising.

can someone please do a profile evaluation for me -

GMAT - 655 (Q88 , V85, DI75) -Q and V are fine, but messed up DI real bad with only 47 percentile

10th - 93.50 %, 12th - 90.60%

UG: 7.0 GPA (Tier-1 Engg College) ( Planning to do MBA math to offset this)

Have 4 years of work ex in software development in a Product Based Company

Additional stuff -
-received 2 promotions in 4 years , got a certificate for being amongst the best mentors in the company
-cleared CFA L1 in first attempt
- helped local hospitals during COVID by getting them necessary chemicals which helped them in maintenance of proper hygiene - have certificates from each of them
-volunteering exp at various NGOs (mostly related to child education and welfare) - received LOR from one of them for being one of the highest fundraisers in a fundraising campaign

Really not sure if I need to give the GMAT again before R2 or not - any advice will be helpful

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I see strong academics from a Tier 1 engineering college, solid quant foundation, and solid work experience with promotions and recognition in a product-based tech firm.

Your ECs and community work really help round out your story, especially the COVID initiative and NGO involvement. The 655 GMAT score also looks decent. With strong essays and recommendations, you will be in a strong spot.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Hi There, nice profile but also one of the more common one for an Indian applicant. But that doesn't mean much, only that you apply with very strong applications that bring out your strengths, differentiators and the value that you will add to the b-schools where you are applying.
Coming to your profile eval- 655 is a decent score but you can increase it. Your college GPA is average and the MBA Math won't help much; its more of a tick box than a profile enhancer. I'd suggest that you retake the GMAT instead. It will be more hardwork but also more fruitful.
Your school grades will only be asked at ISB and not at the other MBA programs.
My assumption is that your goal is product management. If thats the case, maybe you could also look at your b-school list and rejig a few targets. Both Darden and Duke will have their third deadlines (I know they are called round 2) so they would have accepted many similar profiles by their Jan round already. Instead you could look at some other b-schools like Ross, Tepper, UCLA(needs TOEFL), UNC Kenan Flagler. McCombs and Foster that will still help you achieve the same career outcomes.

Would be happy to chat and know more about you, esp the work experience details.

Hi @7keletor,
You have a solid overall profile with strong academics (consistent 90%+ in school, engineering from a Tier-1 college) and steady career progression—two promotions in four years at a product-based tech firm reflect solid performance and leadership. Your CFA Level 1 and volunteering/fundraising work add valuable dimensions and credibility for a pivot to finance. The main weakness is the 655 GMAT Focus, specifically the low DI percentile, which could raise a red flag for top investment banking-focused programs where analytical rigor is critical. Since your quant and verbal are strong, a retake targeting 685+ could improve your competitiveness and help offset the 7.0 GPA. Doing MBA Math is a good step, but if you have time before R2, retaking the GMAT may be worth it.
Highlighting your leadership, professional achievements/tangible impact, relevant skills, career goals, unique experiences, and fit with the program effectively will be crucial in crafting a compelling application. To maximize your chances, consider applying to a balanced mix of reach, target, and safety schools.
Feel free to book a free call with our MBA experts for a more detailed discussion. You can also contact us directly at [email protected] or +91-7780769732.

@7keletor - please see if you can improve your GMAT score - this would also help offset the GPA. Aiming for a 675+ would be ideal, considering your target programs.

The rest of the profile looks alright - make sure you also have a strong narrative covering your experiences, post-MBA career goals, and how/ why the MBA is the right next step at this juncture.

Academic:

- Graduated with a Bachelor's in Economics (2021) from one of the top three universities in my country, an institution with a strong alumni presence at London Business School, my target program.
- While my GPA was below average due to personal challenges early on, I significantly improved my performance during the final years, graduating with strength in the fields that shaped my professional path.
- I co-founded my university’s Finance Club, the first of its kind in the country. It quickly became a launchpad for students securing top finance roles and continues to be a key platform for future talent.

Professional:
- I began my career at a New York–based global elite boutique investment bank, one of the top three firms worldwide, where I spent four years in M&A (Analyst and Associate) based in Bogotá.
- Recognized as a top-bucket performer, I was fast-tracked twice, advising on over 4 billion dollars in closed transactions across Latin America.
- Afterward, I co-founded a real estate private equity firm, where I currently lead strategy and fundraising. We are in the process of raising 50 million dollars from institutional investors and family offices, targeting high-quality opportunities across the region.

Rationale for Pursuing an MBA:
- Geographic expansion. Relocating to the United Kingdom is both a personal and professional step to learn, grow, and operate in one of the most sophisticated financial ecosystems in the world.
- Career acceleration. I aim to transition into Private Equity or Investment Banking in London, where I am already in conversation with former colleagues from my previous firm.
- Long-term vision. My ambition is to found an investment firm focused on Latin America, connecting global capital with the region’s most compelling opportunities.

Thanks for sharing your profile @jjm991112 ! You have arguably the ideal professional background LBS wants for finance/PE applicants: elite boutique M&A experience with demonstrable deal track record and early entrepreneurial/GP experience (co-founding a PE firm and leading a $50m raise), both are huge positives. Your GRE 325 should be good if you present a tight story: why LBS > London PE/IB and how your current traction (PE firm, fundraising) is a bridge to your goal. With a polished application and strong LORs, you can be a competitive Round 2 applicant.

How Adcoms might read you:
1) Domain depth & outcomes: Investment banking M&A track record + $4bn advised, quantify your role, responsibilities, and deal outcomes. This signals technical ability, decision-making judgment, and readiness for PE.

2) Operator/GP evidence: Co-founding a PE firm and leading fundraising is huge, showing traction (commitments, lead LPs, term-sheet stage, due diligence wins, or first deals). This differentiates you from pure bankers.

3) Global mobility & London rationale: explain concretely why London (LP base; return to global team) and specify short-term 2-year roles you’ll pursue (associate / vice-associate at a London PE shop or IB role).

4) Academic and test proof: GRE 325 is fine, but LBS will compare your scores to the class. Offset with very strong LORs & examples of quantitative rigor.

Risks:
Signal your PE readiness and the seriousness of your fundraiser. Provide crisp metrics on the PE firm: current AUM target ($50m), existing commitments (names & types of investors if permissible), stage (first close / term sheet/pipeline), any small wins (signed LOIs, preferred shares secured). If LPs are confidential, ask them for permission to anonymize, but state “anchor investor committed” if true. This shows you already operate on the PE side, not just advising deals. Why: LBS values operator/GP evidence, and this makes you stand out vs bankers who only advise.

Sharpen post-MBA plan: Primary pathway: Associate at a London PE or placement into a London bulge/elite bank that funnels into PE. Name target firms or tiers and why you are qualified for them. Back-up pathway: join a London private credit / FO advisory that builds the UK LP / GP network.
In essays, map the concrete steps LBS will enable: PE recruitment channels, career services, clubs (LBS Private Equity & Venture Capital Club), London network, and internships/placement stats.

LORs: A senior banker (MD or Head of region) who can speak to deal with responsibility, judgment, and promotions. Another, either a co-founder/partner in your PE firm who can speak to your leadership/entrepreneurial abilities and fundraising role, or an investor/LP or senior client you’ve worked with who can attest to your credibility.

Post submission. If you attend LBS events (virtual or in-person), send a short 1-2 sentence interest update to the admissions team referencing the event and one concrete insight you gained.

Network with LBS alumni who are currently in London PE/IB teams and alumni from your country (Colombia), use the LBS alumni directory, LinkedIn, and LBS Careers events. Ask two tight questions: (a) What was the most valuable LBS experience that helped you get into London PE? (b) Which clubs, recruiters, or courses should I target while at LBS to land Associate roles in London? Always ask for 1-line advice you can quote in essays. Explicitly reference LBS’s PE & VC club, career treks, and the London market in your “why LBS” essay so adcoms see evidence of research and genuine fit.

Are you open to applying to 1-2 additional schools (INSEAD, Saïd, Cambridge/Judge) to broaden your chances?

This YouTube video with LBS Alumni might give you some insights.

Most of the applicants who worked with Shantanu for the LBS Applications recently received an Interview Invite.

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. Thanks for sharing your profile, @Aditya Gawhale ! Starting with some info, tech hiring in 2025 is uneven; big tech has slowed some MBA hiring, while demand is strong for AI/data/product roles at startups, mid-sized SaaS and enterprise software, and in AI/data verticals. This means MBAs with AI/data credibility + product skills remain attractive, but competition is uneven.

Top targets (MIT Sloan, Kellogg, Stern, etc.) have median GMAT FE around ~675-685 and average work experience ~4-6 years; many admit profiles cluster above a 655 GMAT FE. This makes a 665 a below-median score for those programs (not impossible, but it requires compensating strengths).

Things to raise admission probability:
1) Show sustained leadership & ownership (most critical).
2) Move from “IC doing tasks” to “owner of an initiative.” Leading a project end-to-end, driving a client’s product requirement decisions, shipping feature(s) with measurable impact (revenue, cost savings, retention), or leading a cross-functional team for 6+ months is huge. If you can achieve promotion to a people/tech lead role before application, that’s ideal.
3) Build product credentials now. (tie your analytics to product outcomes). Pick a 3-6 month product or analytics project (internal or side project) where you own problem framing, metric definitions, A/B test, or deployment, and present measurable results. If possible, work with a PM at your company to co-deliver a feature and get a client/PM to write a note about your role.
4) Get two strong recommenders, one manager + one client (if possible). A recommender who can describe leadership, impact, and potential for product leadership is vital. Client LORs that comment on your influence and stakeholder management are particularly persuasive for career pivots.
5) For the test score, consider re-attempting the GMAT. (Given your progress from 555 to 665, you’ve shown improvement; another targeted cycle could be successful.)
6) Add meaningful extracurricular/impact work. 6-12 months of leadership in a nonprofit, startup, hackathon organizer, or building a community around AI/ML (workshops, mentoring) will show culture fit and leadership.
7) Resume: Each bullet should show situation → your action → measurable impact → leadership/scale. For essays, craft a clear post-MBA plan showing how MBA courses, clubs, and internships will bridge to Product Manager roles (use school-specific hooks).
8) Network for informational interviews & campus engagement. Talk to recent alums in product roles from each school to refine essays and build school-specific hooks.

Questions for you to reflect upon:
1) Which of your projects at Fractal had measurable business impact (revenue uplift, cost savings, retention lift)? Note 2-3 examples with numbers if possible.
2) Who would be your recommenders, direct manager? a client contact? Have they seen you lead or influence decisions?
3) Are you open to retaking the GMAT to target 700+? If not, what is your preferred strategy to strengthen your candidacy?
4) Any side projects, freelance, volunteering, startup attempts, or hackathons you can quickly document as leadership?
5) Post-MBA geography preference? (US West/NYC/UK/Europe/India). This affects school fit and which schools to push hardest.
6) Are you able to take a short internal secondment / lead an initiative at work for a few months before applications? (This is one of the highest-leverage moves.)

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. Hi Aditya
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks pretty interesting. Your mix of analytics consulting and technical versatility across multiple domains gives you a strong foundation for a pivot into product management.

Six years at Fractal Analytics with experience in CPG, healthcare, finance, and automation shows adaptability, even if most of it’s been individual contributor work. Your GMAT score is also decent. What’s missing right now is clear leadership impact and structured extracurricular involvement, adding something tangible on that front (mentorship, community initiative, or internal project leadership) would round you out well.

Schools like Foster, ISB, Marshall, and Tepper seem realistic targets given your goals and score, while Haas, LBS, and Kellogg could be stretches but still worth trying with strong essays connecting your tech expertise to your product management ambitions.

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks good on the surface. Coming from SRCC with a gold medal is a huge academic plus. The blend of FP&A experience at HCL and then a full-fledged entrepreneurial stint as a content creator across 12 countries gives your profile a rare mix of analytical and creative exposure, which AdComs at schools like IE and ESADE really appreciate.

Your GMAT also looks strong. Plus, your diverse background and international exposure will further strengthen your chances. Your college leadership experience adds another positive layer, it shows initiative and people skills. For the MiM programs, your mix of commerce, finance, and entrepreneurship makes you a solid candidate. Make sure to emphasize your entrepreneurial impact and cross-cultural experience to stand out. Overall, you’ve got a compelling story, focus your essays on how your finance and content creation experience give you a unique edge for consulting and international business.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Recently, we got the opportunity to work with an applicant who earned an IE admit with 625 GMAT FE, 9 years of work experience. Your profile details look good, GMAT retake is required. All the best for your exam @kabiriyat, but we would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I see a pretty balanced and interesting profile. You have got solid experience in product management with clear growth, two promotions in under four years and a likely third coming soon show strong career momentum. The exposure to digital supply chain transformation and GenAI projects adds a modern edge that’ll appeal to tech-focused programs like NUS and ISB.

Your academics are fine, and the MITx Micromasters in SCM is a nice differentiator that strengthens your academic profile. A retake landing around 635 - 655 would significantly improve your chances. The extracurriculars and photography passion give your profile some personality, which helps balance the tech-heavy background. You have got a well-rounded story, just push that GMAT up a bit and emphasize your leadership in product and innovation to stand out.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Hey Manish
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, an 8.1 GPA is solid, and a tech background gives you strong analytical credibility. Anderson is a great target, especially for someone looking to pivot into finance or investment banking, but the success of that transition will depend heavily on your work experience, leadership exposure, and clarity of career story. Since you haven’t taken the GMAT yet, aim for a 665+ to stay competitive. IB is a tough post-MBA switch, especially from tech, so strong quant skills and a clear finance narrative will matter.

Could you share a few more details - how many years of work experience you have, what kind of roles or impact you’ve had in your current job, and any extracurricular or leadership activities you’ve been part of? That’ll help in giving you a more accurate and realistic evaluation for Anderson and similar programs.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks solid and well-balanced. You’ve got a great mix of strong academics, brand-name experience, and solid leadership both in college and at work.

Five years in tech with Cisco and Cloudera gives you solid technical credibility, and the quick promotion plus the fact that you’ve designed systems from scratch shows impact and ownership. Your GMAT score also looks strong. What really helps your story is the leadership outside pure tech - leading 100+ people in your college fest, heading sales and marketing, and volunteering through Team4Tech all add nice depth and people-facing experience, which consulting schools value. Make sure to highlight your leadership, communication, and cross-functional exposure in essays to offset the tech-heavy profile.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Thank you for sharing your profile @akamukho25 ! Your GMAT score is good. You can emphasize how your engineering training fostered structured problem-solving and analytical thinking, which can be the key to consulting. If you took any business/economics/finance electives or completed data analytics or leadership certifications (Coursera, edX, etc.), highlight them.

Strengths: Top global tech brands (instant credibility), demonstrated progression, and tangible technical ownership. Volunteering with Team4Tech adds a “human-centered leadership” dimension, great for consulting pivot stories.

Frame your achievements in business-impact language rather than just technical details. Example: “Led cross-functional project improving system efficiency by 30%, saving $200K annually” instead of “developed distributed system for data ingestion.” Adcom will love to see quantified leadership impact, i.e., how your technical ideas created measurable business results.

Talking about your leadership & extracurriculars: Head of Sales & Finance + Head of Marketing at College Fest (100+ team, multi-city marketing). Volunteering via corporate social responsibility (Team4Tech). Awards: “Going Above and Beyond,” multiple hackathon wins. This tells that you’re not just an engineer, you’re a leader who mobilizes people and resources. This is exactly what schools will value.

Connect these leadership experiences to consulting, for example, “I enjoyed analyzing problems from multiple dimensions and driving data-backed decisions, which mirrors consulting.” If possible, include any mentorship/coaching examples (you led juniors, trained others, etc.) show managerial readiness.

For ISB: Focus on India-market leadership, strategy, and scaling impact.
Rotman: Emphasize innovation, digital transformation, and analytics consulting.
Schulich: Highlight cross-border strategy, North American exposure, and global consulting mindset.

Schools care about “so what?” in your stories. Sharpen your post-MBA story:
Be specific: “Join MBB or X company strategy as a Consultant focusing on digital transformation for tech clients” is better than “move into consulting.”
Leverage specific school programs.
Engaging early builds familiarity with AdComs and gives you fresh essay insights.
ISB and Rotman both assess structured thinking, so start practicing frameworks (Profitability, Market Entry, etc.).

Optional but might be helpful: consider a certification to further solidify business-readiness. Build leadership visibility at work, lead a cross-team initiative, or a diversity program.

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. If you’d like, you can have an expert take a look at your essays for a detailed review and also book a profile evaluation session. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your profile @26Jiya ! Let's start, GMAT/GRE are not mandatory, but they add weight. Imperial’s current average GMAT sits around the mid-600s to high-600s for MSc Finance admits. A strong GMAT/GRE will meaningfully strengthen an application from a lower-ranked undergrad. Imperial expects entrants to be comfortable with probability, calculus, matrix algebra, and linear analysis. The program is mathematically rigorous. If you lack these on your transcript, you should demonstrate competence through graded courses/certificates.

Strengths you already have: Quantitative science background (Chemistry). Leadership & event organisation, meaningful extracurricular leadership helps show teamwork, initiative, and communication skills, all important for MSc cohorts. Certificates show motivation and readiness to bridge to finance (but make sure they are relevant: finance/accounting/econometrics/product analytics).

Main gaps you should close: Imperial expects math readiness (probability, calculus, linear algebra, statistics). If you haven’t taken these beyond high school, take graded university courses (for-credit) or reputable online courses (with graded assessment) in:

Finance exposure/internship/projects: Secure at least one finance-related internship (front-office is ideal, investment, corporate finance, treasury, or analyst roles) OR complete a measurable finance project (valuation models, trading simulations, data-driven finance analysis). Document outcomes (models built, analysis performed, results). Imperial’s class has applicants with Economics/Finance/Engineering backgrounds, showing transferable technical & analytical skills.

Adcom will expect a well-researched career plan with short-term and long-term steps. Decide: MSc Finance > Investment Banking/Asset Management/Corporate Finance/FinTech? Spell out the employers/roles and how Imperial’s modules/careers services will help.

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target school more accurately. If you'd like, feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Hi Jiya
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got an interesting starting point, a chemistry major with clear intent to pivot into finance and management, which shows ambition and curiosity beyond your core field.

Your GPA looks decent, and it’s good that you’ve already taken initiative through event organization and leadership roles, those experiences will help show teamwork, ownership, and communication skills that business schools look for. Since you’re still a student, the biggest thing missing right now is relevant exposure to finance or business, try to add internships, research projects, or certifications to strengthen your case for programs like Imperial MSc in Finance.

Also, make sure your essays clearly explain why you’re shifting from chemistry to finance and how your analytical background supports that transition. With a strong GMAT/GRE and some tangible finance-related experience before applying, you can make your profile much more competitive.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.
