Statement 1: Jennifer left a tip that was 20% of the meal’s cost.

Lacking the actual cost of the meal, we cannot determine a specific value.
Not sufficient.

Statement 2: Jennifer’s meal cost dollars, excluding the tip.

Without knowing the exact value of or the tip amount, we cannot compute the total cost.
Not sufficient.

Combining both statements:

The meal cost is , and the tip is 20% of this amount.

If the tip exceeds $10, the total expenditure surpasses , and vice versa.

This does not provide a definite solution.

Not sufficient. Answer: Option E.

Did Jennifer spend more than x dollars at her favorite sushi restaurant, including the tip?

(1) Jennifer left a tip equal to 20 percent of the cost of the meal.
Insufficient
Does not give any info on the total cost of meal

(2) Jennifer's meal cost (x - 10) dollars excluding the tip.
Insufficient
Does not give any info on the total cost of meal(as no details of tip given)

(1) & (2)

Meal cost x-10 and tip was 20%
Hence total expenditure was 1.2(x-10)

Now the primary question becomes:
is 1.2*(x-10)>x

Simplifying the above inequality we get : is x>60?

As no information on x is provided
Hence insufficient
