Hey Matt1177
Let me congratulate you for getting so far. 670 is not bad, you just have to break the 700 stratosphere. I think MGMAT tests are easier than Gmatprep. MGMAT quant involves more calculation but GMATPrep is tricky.

which area of Quant do you think you got weird questions?

Matt1177
Hello guys:

(4) There was no surprise with Q, but I do not know what happened to me. The best reason is that I still lack some important knowledge or practice to solve difficult problems in under 2 minutes. If I were given more time, I would definately solve all the problems that appeared during the test. So, maybe I scheduled the g-date too early without excelling my speed and accuracy rate. What frastrates me most is that on my second attempt (after only one and a half month of overall self-preparation - without any decent guides) I scored a 43 in math. It means that both MGMAT guides and Knewton helped me to improve my Q performance only by one point.

Best,
Matt.

Hi gmat1220,

Thank you for congratulations.
As for the Quant, first of all I was late from the first break. This is of course stupid and I can't forgive myself. I lost valuable 2 minutes and had to rush through math. I can't exclude that I made several silly mistakes. Anyway I saw triple overlapping sets, standard deviation, and other coordinate geometry topped by lengthy functions. Because of lack of time, I had to make educated guess and continue the race. As you understand, my Q score was heavily affected. I can't refer to any Q questions weird - they were all fine and consistent with what I saw during the mock tests.

Thanks again,
M.

All the best for your attempt! I would agree, 670 is not bad at all. You just had to have few more practice sessions to break 700 mark!

I was just reading your preparations for this GMAT sitting in another thread! 670 is certainly not a bad score.. Are you sure you want to re-take the test?
Besides, there's the additional factor of taking the GMAT for the fifth time (as you mentioned). I'd like to think that the ad-com would be appreciative of all the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into your GMAT, but I have heard contrary views from some more experienced people.
All the best brother!

Hi Itheenigma:

I appreciate you post. Maybe you are right. I am going to visit an MBA fair on March 3, 2011 in Moscow. I will ascertain views of the schools that will be represented in the event.
By the way, my score can be quite enough for almost all international b-schools.
Let me think properly and I will definately let you know of my decision.
Best,
M.

I think that you should take the test again when you achieve a consistent performance in the practice CATs.
Based on the succesfull experiences of other guys, usually they achieve a score higher than 700 when their scores in the MGMAT CATs are 700+.

Matt,
My point exactly...A sturdy 670 will get you a knock on every international b school door. How you sell your wares to the admission committee is an entirely different matter!
That said, a 700+ will surely bolster your chances, plus give you some meaty schols.
I have opted for the latter option because of my highly competitive profile pool in addition to some financial constraints...

Interesting call! Do keep us posted with your decision!

Sure, I will keep you all, guys, posted.

By the way, my official score has become available. AWA - 5.5. I did not put much efforts into it - just followed chineseburned templates.
