Disappointing Results

Hi there,

I am dyslexic and only started GMAT prep in early March. I am applying for schools starting this September (I am UK based) I am looking for a score of 585-595.

So far I have taken the following:

I have one attempt of the exam left, in a few weeks time. How do I get my score up? I am working on GMAT full time, typically 8-10 hours a day.

You’re putting in serious effort—respect! Your scores hover near 575, so 585-595 is doable. Quant’s your weakest link (low of 68); drill number properties and algebra with GMAT Club’s question bank. Verbal’s solid (82-85)—keep practicing RC. For DI, MSR is likely tripping you up; practice 10 daily with a timer. Ease up to 6 hours daily to stay sharp. Maintain an error log and review mocks deeply. Try a DI-first section order to build momentum. With your dedication, you’ll hit the target. Keep it up!

Amazing commitment with 8-10 hours daily! Your 575 high shows you’re close to 585-595. Quant needs work (68 on exam); 
Focus on word problems. Verbal’s strong (83-85)—do 5 CR questions daily to stay sharp. 
DI’s inconsistent (72-78); practice TPA questions for speed. Reduce study to 7 hours to avoid fatigue. Take a weekly mock and analyze errors. 
Try Verbal-Quant-DI order to leverage verbal strength early. You’ve got the grit—fine-tune and you’ll nail it!

You're quite close to your target score, and your verbal looks good. I'd recommend that you prioritise quant (maybe consider working with a quant tutor if you think that could help).

A great way to spend the next few weeks is by engaging in topical practice.

For example, let’s say you want to practice Number Properties. You can do so by answering 50 or more questions just from Number Properties: LCM, GCF, units digit patterns, divisibility, remainders, etc.

After each problem set, it's crucial to delve into the questions you answered incorrectly.

For instance, if you stumbled on a remainder question, take a moment to reflect. Was it a careless error? Did you fail to apply the remainder formula correctly? Was there a concept in the question that eluded you? This analysis is key to your learning process.

By carefully analyzing your mistakes, you will be able to fix your weaknesses efficiently and, in turn, improve your GMAT quant skills. Number Properties is just one example; follow this process for all quant, verbal, and DI topics.
