Hello @employeee123,At first glance, your profile seems to be a Typical Indian Male IT background. However, on analyzing further, I see a balanced mix of strengths and areas needing attention.

Strengths:
  1. Academic Excellence: Consistently strong academic performance with 92.3% in Class X, 88.2% in Class XII, and an impressive 91.2% in B.Tech demonstrates solid intellectual abilities and a strong work ethic.
  2. GMAT Score: A GMAT score of 720 is competitive and reflects strong analytical and verbal capabilities. Hope it was a physical test score and NOT online.
  3. Professional Experience: Approximately three years of experience as a backend developer at Accenture indicates solid technical expertise and exposure to a reputable global company.
  4. Leadership and Extracurricular Involvement:
    • Serving in various management and leadership roles since school showcases long-term leadership qualities.
    • Co-founding an NGO and serving as the First-aid head demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, and a commitment to social causes.
    • Holding the position of Joint Secretary of the adventure club indicates active involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities.
Areas to Focus On:
  1. Work Experience Depth: While three years of experience at Accenture is valuable, focus on providing specific examples of your contributions and impact. Highlight any projects where you led a team, improved processes, or delivered significant results. Profiles from Accenture, Genpact, TCS, Infosys, HCL, Capgemini, Mindtree, MPhasis, any other IT outsourcing company seem to be exactly same to the adcom. Hence, you have to talk about uniqueness of your work (ex. industry, client, nature of project, business impact) and not focus at all on your programming forte.
  2. Professional Growth: Elaborate on any career progression or promotions within Accenture. This will show your potential for growth and how you have taken on increasing responsibilities over time.
  3. Quantifiable Achievements: Provide metrics and quantifiable achievements in your professional and extracurricular activities. For example, mention how many people your NGO has helped, the success of projects you led at Accenture, or specific improvements you made as Joint Secretary of the adventure club.
  4. MBA Motivation: Clearly articulate why you want to pursue an MBA at this stage in your career. Explain how it aligns with your professional goals and how ISB’s program specifically will help you achieve these goals.
  5. Current Leadership Activities: Since some of your leadership experiences are from school and college, emphasize any recent leadership roles or initiatives you have taken up in your professional life or through continued involvement with the NGO.
By addressing these areas and building on your strengths, you can present a compelling and well-rounded application to ISB. Hopefully the below link can help: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/crackadmission_mba-isb-isbpgp-activity-7209093850122899457-Cyti/

What is the hook in your story? If you feel your story can carry the weight of your GMAT, go ahead and apply. But if that is not the case, a higher score could help (if this is your old GMAT score).
What is your career growth trajectory at Accenture?
How have you grown in terms of incremental responsibilities in every year(leadership)?
What are your goals? There is not enough to give you a profile evaluation. But I hope you will see value in this debrief of the NEW ISB ESSAYS.

Best wishes

Hey employeee123,

I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks good on the surface. Those academic scores show a strong upward trend. While a 720 on the GMAT puts you right in the sweet spot for ISB. But what really stands out are your extracurriculars.

Holding leadership positions throughout school, co-founding an NGO, and being the First-aid head – that shows initiative, compassion, and a well-rounded personality. The Joint Secretary role in the adventure club adds another layer of interest, showcasing your adventurous spirit.

Overall, you've got a very compelling profile for ISB. The only thing we can't assess without seeing more is the depth of your work experience at Accenture. Did you take on any challenging projects? Did you lead any teams? These details can make a big difference in your application.

To give you the most accurate assessment and help you craft the most impactful application possible, we'd absolutely like to connect further. There might be some hidden gems in your work experience that could make your application truly shine.

@employeee123 -  some thoughts and clarifications:

1. The GMAT composite and Accenture brand are good angles. What's your undergrad college and sectional split of GMAT?

2. Have there been promotions in your roles, and are there any other strengths e.g. leading teams, international exposure, domain expertise, etc.?

3. For Extracurriculars, recency and consistency are key, and quality trumps quantity. Have there been any ECA's since undergrad?

4. It's crucial to present a balanced profile highlighting both your professional and personal angles, motivation for an MBA and particularly ISB. For tips and best practices on ISB's latest essays, check out here

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Arvind

Hello employeee123,

Thanks for writing in.

While your academics and GMAT score are in good shape (and will definitely prove to be advantageous), your chances will depend on how holiistic your profile is and how well you link your strengths and experiences to your proposed goals.

In a nutshell, you belong to an overrepresented pool of applicants; hence, how well you are able to disctinguish yourself from others will be an important factor.

All the best!

Hey guys, looking for a profile evaluation and seek advice.

Reapplicant. Applied through EEO last time in R2. Got rejected post interview.

GMAT Classic Score: 760 (Q49, V46)
12th: 84%
10th: 93%

Pursued Computer Engineering from DTU- 2022 graduate.

Have been working as a Technological Risk Consultant (Data Scientist) at PwC India for 2+ years (32 months at the time of ISB joining as mentioned in the ISB application.

Extra-curriculars:
NDA Admit 2018, multiple time National Tennis Champion, AIESEC member, used to work for an NGO, Research Paper publications, play other sports (football, golf, chess), play the keyboard

^All of this is mentioned in some shape or form in the application.

Ps: I've recently received an offer from BCG, but I haven't mentioned that in my application, and not sure if I should bring it up in my interview (hopeful)

As for the BCG role (Data Analyst), that aligns with my future goals as mentioned in my essays. My concern with mentioning BCG in the interview is that I hope they don't think that if I'm joining the company this late, I might be try to get my admission deferred, and thus have an asterisk put against my candidature.
At the same time, BCG carries a lot of brand value and might help with my candidature.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dear arragascar,

We see several clear highlights in your profile that will work in your favor, including an impressive GMAT score, strong academic performance, and research paper publications. Your valuable work experience with PwC and active extracurricular involvement also provide a solid foundation for impactful stories.

Regarding your recent job offer from BCG, we believe it could enhance your profile if you can articulate specific learnings you aim to gain from this role that would make you a well-rounded candidate during your limited time there. If you feel confident about this, mentioning it in your interviews could add weight to your application. However, if you're unsure, it's perfectly acceptable not to bring it up, as there are already many potential impactful stories in your profile to discuss.

We would love to learn more about your background and assist you throughout your application journey. At Team Fly, we are a dedicated group of ISB alumni committed to helping aspiring candidates with profile positioning, essay critiques, and interview preparations through our ISB MBA Admissions Interview Preparation Series.

Feel free to book a 15-minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: Schedule Here.

We’re also excited to announce the launch of our new website, currently offering an inaugural discount of 20% on all our services. Please visit us at: Team Fly.

Hello arragascar,

Hope this finds you well.

Since you have only received an offer from BCG (and, not actually started working), it would be ok to skip talking about BCG; generally, switching jobs so close to the application deadline comes with a certain amount of scrutiny and a few questions marks.

You have a great GMAT score and a number of fine talking points in your profile; it would be best to just focus on your need for PGP and what you intend to do after.

Hope this helps.

All the best!
