Each day, Jenny ate 20% of the jellybeans that were in her jar at the beginning of that day. At the end of the second day, 32 remained. How many jellybeans were in the jar originally?

(A) 40
(B) 50
(C) 55
(D) 60
(E) 75

each day 0.8 times jellybeans are been eatern
so
end of day of 2nd day 32 left
i.e 32/0.8 *1/ 0.8 = 50
IMO B

At the end of the second day 32 remained.

Since 20% is eaten.

32 is 80% of what was at the beginning of 2nd day.

So jelly beans at the beginning of 2nd day = 32/80*100 = 40.

So 40 jelly beans were there at the end of the first day.

At the beginning of the 1st day there were 40/80*100 = 50 jellybeans.

Hence ans B)
