Each day, Jenny ate 20% of the jellybeans that were in her jar at the beginning of that day. At the end of the second day, 32 remained. How many jellybeans were in the jar originally?

Given:  
 • Each day, Jenny ate 20% of the jellybeans that were in her jar at the beginning of that day.
• At the end of the second day, 32 remained.

To find:  
 • The number of jellybeans that were present in the jar initially.

Approach and Working:  
Let us assume that initially there were n number of jellybeans present in the jar.
 • Therefore, number of jellybeans in the jar at the end of first day = n * 0.8 = 0.8n
• Similarly, number of jellybeans in the jar at the end of second day = 0.8n * 0.8 = 0.64n

As per the information,
 • 0.64n = 32
Or, n = 32/0.64 = 50

Hence, the correct answer is option B.
