Essayist: Wisdom and intelligence are desirable qualities. However, being intelligent does not imply that one is wise, nor does being wise imply that one is intelligent. In my own experience, the people I meet have one or the other of these qualities but not both.

This problem can be solved by Venn diagram.
There are two sets of folk intelligent and wise. Now there will be folks who are both intelligent and wise at the same time, but the author has not met them or they are not there.
Per this reasoning we can look for answer
A is out as we can have such a scenario where most people fall in this category.
B This can also happen if the overlap of the two sets in the reasoning is very large.
C This can happen if we do no have an overlap between the two sets.
D correct. This says that there are no folks who are intelligent, wise and both wise and intelligent, but that is not the case here.
E True. this may happen per the argument
