Hi there, could you share your interview debrief here please? Questions asked, tips, etc. Thank you :)

Sure, I can do that

The interview panel consisted of an alumni, a current student and a college rep. They were very friendly and it was a very casual conversation. They wanted to get to know me better and were genuinely trying to get to understand my motivations and ideas. They will also want to see if you are who you claim you are in your essays.

The questions mostly dealt with why ESSEC/France(or Singapore) /MiM and a few other questions from my essays. They also asked me what I would do if I had the power to change one thing in the world. Make sure you know what you’ve written in your essays and CV. The last thing you want is to get confused with data about yourself.

If you are good enough to get shortlisted, you are good enough to make it past the interviews. Just be true to yourself and be bold. Tell them who you are but don’t try to sell yourself. Have a rough goal- long and short term. They don’t expect you to have a crystal clear plan laid out, but they also won’t want someone clueless. Justify why an MiM at ESSEC with your goals.

Have some idea about the current economic and political landscape. My friend who made it to the interview was asked of his opinions on the economic conditions of China. Not sure if anyone else will be asked that too, but better be safe than sorry. Also mention the research you’ve done- in terms of the facilities, alumni you’ve spoken to, the courses you like and the clubs you like. Talk about Chairs too and show them you’re motivated.

I think that’s just about it. Good luck to everyone appearing for the interviews and see you at essec!

TL;DR
Be yourself. If you made it to interviews, they see you as a potential candidate. Don’t panic and show them who you are a person and a professional. Have fun, they’ll be very friendly too.

I had applied for starting in the Singapore campus and from my experience can vouch for the fact that which campus you start at does not affect your interview questions. Rather I had to correct my interviewer when she asked me certain questions and tell her that I was applying for the AP Campus but the questions didn’t change.

I had my interview yesterday. It was very friendly and casual. There were three people - one academic director, one alum and a person from career cell. They introduced themselves and asked me to give a brief description about myself. This was the only standard interview question they asked. Apart from this, the entire interview was very conversational with the goal of understanding my personality and motivation. These were some of the questions asked: 1. Would you like to follow the footsteps of your father or create your own path in future? (as I had mentioned that I admire my father and his business acumen)
2. How did COVID affect you personally and professionally? Did you see it as a learning opportunity or a setback?
3. Are you an ethical person in nature or mold your ethics according to the situation?
4. At such a young age, how did you manage a group of 5 people under you? What are your learnings?
5. They knew other schools I applied to. So, if admitted into them, what would you do? Would you choose ESSEC over others? Why?
6. Your referee has mentioned in the report that you accept constructive feedback. Describe a situation you received such feedback from him.
7. Since I have mentioned about sustainability and innovation in my essays, they asked me to define them in one line, what they meant to me.
8. What were the reasons for interning in different industries?
9. I have mentioned about the Outstanding Student Award in my BBA. They asked me to describe the criteria for selection and how I received it.
10. According to you, what is one issue the logistic sector is most effected by?
11. Any questions for us? (This is the most important and they gave me about 10 minutes to ask them as many questions as I wanted to)

Yup. I did. All the schools I applied to do fall into the same category as ESSEC be it rankings wise or reputation wise. I told them how ESSEC is my dream school and talked about the Asian campus and the flexibility of the program.
