I opted for B over A but not able to understand why A is really incorrect. Can any one help?

Choice A structures the sentence as follows:

take a swing ... not swing

This leaves the sentence without parallel structure. Choice B:

Swing ... not swing

Therefore, you’re better off with B.

Does this help?

The underlined portion of the sentence contains two prepositional phrases separated by "And".
In option A, take a swing at a pitch & not swing at pitches are not parallel.

I hope that clarifies your doubt.

Hi Jbrandl1,

Only reason behind that is parallel? As I opted B for kind of that reason only but felt still missing something.
