everybody needs singular verb hence was is correct
except Pitcher and "me" since we need objects.
Hence E
I guess accept doesn't make sense here. It must be A/B/C. Option B is out for SV agreement (Everyone was) Of A and C...to me C sounds more correct with "Ëveryone and I" instead of "Everyone and me"

IMO it should be C

I need a little more explanation for this.

For example,
Next Sunday, you and I are going to watch a movie.
Next Sunday, you and I am going to watch a movie.
Next Sunday, you and me are going to watch a movie.

Another statement is
Danny bought new pencils for I and my brother.
Danny bought new pencils for me and my brother.

Can you explain which one is correct and why others are wrong.

Everyone on both sides except the pitcher and me was injured in that game.

(A) except the pitcher and me was

(B) except the pitcher and me were

(C) except the pitcher and I was

(D) accept the pitcher and I were

(E) accept the pitcher and me was

Source: Master GMAT

GMATNinja Could you explain why A is correct. I selected C, as "I was injured" is used instead of "me was injured".

eGMAT states all Pronoun Ending in One, Body , Thing , Ever are generally Singular.....

Hence, (A) is correct in every respect !!!

Can you explain which one is correct and why others are wrong.

In the first example, option A is correct. Here 'You and the first person' act as subjects. Hence using the object form of I (me) would be wrong here. Option 2 is also incorrect because of 'am'

In the second example, option 2 is correct. This is because Danny is the subject of the sentence and 'speaker and his brother' are the objects.
