Extremely Bad Score

Question

Hi all 
I am totally devastated with my GMAT 2nd attempt score of 620.

Official Score - 1st attempt 710 (Q 49, V 37)- 8 Aug- 2018

Decided to put another attempt to get 750+ and below are the scores I have been getting before crashing down in the Official Exam.
GMAT Prep-1 710 (Q 51, V 34)- 10 May-2019
Gmat Prep-2 700 (Q 51, V 33) - 18 May-2019
GMAT Prep-3 740 (Q 49, V41)- 02 - June-2019
Gmat Prep-4 680 (Q 49, V 30)- 09- June-2019
Gmat Prep-5 750 (Q 50, V 40)- 16 June-2019 
Gmat Prep-6 690 (Q 49, V 33)- 21- June-2019

Official Exam : 620 (Q 49, V 25) 23-June 2019

I am feeling extremely low but my desire to get 750+ is still alive. Please suggest. Also how should move forward.

amitiitb - First, I am very sorry to hear about you not-so-impressive retake experience. I would encourage you to read a few posts on some of the success, comebacks, and disaster stories in the below tread. Also, your username amitiib gives me an impression that you are a student at IIT Bombay. Given that, you are pretty much great at academics and test-taking strategies. You should not worry too much. Are you planning to retake? I see you have got admissions in three b-schools.

Thanks for Replying back. Yes, I am an IIT Bombay Graduate, Batch of 2015. I got admission to these 3 MBA programs last year but left them because of my aspiration of getting into Top-5 B-school.

Yes, My desire is to retake probably after 16 days (ASAP) so that I don't loose much on my preparation.

Hi amitiitb,

First off, your original 710/Q49 is an outstanding score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest is likely NOT necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day.Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long did you study before each of your Official GMATs?
2) What study materials did you use for each attempt?
3) Did you take the 6 Official CATs when you studied for your 1st GMAT? Have you taken any other CATs besides these ones for your 2nd attempt?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
