I have written GMAT twice (classic version) and scoredsub standard marks. I am now preparing for GMAT focus and i wish to fix a exam date , so that i can prepare with a date in mind. But i am struggling to pick a date, as i always fell "could i prepare better if i had 50 days instead of 40 days ?". This lack of conviction to pick a date is bothering me daily.
I took 2 official mocks , scored 565 and 605 (V82, DI 77, Q81). I believe i can improve in quant with preparation, and also believe i can improve my speed in Di with practice. I had planned to apply for sep 2024 mba batch, but its too late now . I wish to target January 2025 batch in some schools and rest of them in sep 2025.
I can give 5-6 hours daily for preparation. I believe i can prepare in 35-40 days , but fear of low score is holding me back from picking a date for te exam. Any words of advice in this regard from the gmat club family ? What factors should i think over before i choose ?

Why even pick a date? Many people pick dates and then find they're not ready and get into a long cycle of picking dates and pushing back their tests until they finally take the test.
You could just start preparing and pick a date once you have clearer visibility regarding when you'll be ready.

One thing you could consider is deciding which part of which month you want to take the test (i.e. late April) and then pick a specific date when you get closer. Perhaps you decide to book a slot on the 29th instead of the 22nd, for example, based on your mock results.
