bbt: Never heard of the Accounting PhD program at LBS. The school has a good reputation and you'd get good, rigorous courses for sure. However I don't know any faculty members there.

As for Duke they have a very solid Accounting PhD program with many all-star empirical accounting research faculty members there. Unless you really wanted to live the London experience and/or didn't want to end up in North Carolina, I'd say it's a no-brainer.

i e-mailed the grad director of my favorite school and asked about the status of my application. what I got was this sentence:
Someone will drop you a note within the next couple of days

Doesn't it intentionally mean I have been rejected?!

Thanks TKKoh.

I am sure lady luck will smile on you and you too will have offers in hand, soon.

Can anyone give perspective about Univ of Rochester's Accounting PhD program. Heard that it has very high drop out rate.

Best Wishes

Rochester has strong placement records. I also heard that it is quant-heavy and, yes, drop out rate is relatively high. If I remember correctly, it is also quite generous with its finanical aid. It would be a great place to do your PhD if you are determined to complete it.
