rejected at kellogg (management and organizations)

a bit dissapointing, i must say. no email, no phone.. just checked the website as i did everyday.
so i have one admit, one reject two to go (harvard, mit)

I'm sorry... I would like to understand what kind of applicants Kellogg is looking for this year, high GMAT scores and GPAs don't seem to make the difference.

After reading Hobbit's posting @ Kellogg, I could guess my result. The website confirmed that. DING.

Any news from LBS / U Mich ( Ann Arbor ) / NYU / Columbia / U Texas - Austin ?

Best wishes to all.

john - is your Kellogg ding for the Management and Organizations program?

From gradcafe, it seems like only 2 or 3 business schools are more regular in releasing results thus far. e.g. UPenn and Kellogg.

Speaking of Kellogg, I'm nominating it as this season's application killer.

Hi All

Its better late than never,
I got 2 weeks ago (08/02) big No from Wharton Accounting PhD Program through their web site. I hope more answers will come shortly; this waiting period is killing me.

Tkkoh – thank you very much for the wonderful service you are doing here.

Good luck to all of you.

Another ding from OSU. The professor told me that he admitted no one this year. Very sad.

bauble - congrats on the admits. Let me know the dates if you can remember them so that I can update the list and keep it consistent.

Folks - I have done up a system over the weekend to keep track of application outcomes at http://www.gradjournal.com/. It is something similar to gradcafe with more enhancements. e.g. it is more structured and links the application outcome with the applicant's profile.

However, I will continue to upkeep this outcome list here.

Cheers,

buckeye,

MIT TIE

tkkoh,

Duke: First week of Feb. don't have the exact date on hand.
All the other admits were within the last week.

J,

My profile:
GMAT: 99%
UG: 3.6 at top 5 university.
Grad: Quant masters in top 5.
Quite a bit of WE relevant to strategy / management (but not consulting).

Silent and not so silent readers,
Next couple weeks or so will be crunch time for those who are waiting for the good news. Stay positive!

Hi Bauble,

Congrats for your acceptance. 3 Universities, it must be hard to decide. Any criteria so far? Just curious about how you guys can make a decision for final place to go.

BTW, may I ask how you know about the acceptance from Ross? By email, phone, web site, or postal mail? Any interview before that?

Thanks!!!

MIT TIE

Thanks. While I think MIT BPS has made its decisions, it may have waiting list there to ensure 5-6 enrollments every year. TIE is a great program, and has a very wonderful placement record. BTW, UMICH is also an excellent choice. Frankly, it is better than Duke strategy group since Jim Westphal just moved there and it looks like he would not leave in several years. Anyway, you have done a great job. Congrats!

Do you receive the result by e-mail or by post ?

I am also waiting for the results but still receive no word from these schools so far!

Don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic that I have a decision to make, but it will not be easy. My main thoughts are what will make me a better researcher (develop strong and interesting research streams) and what place will get me the best footing for jobs, ceteris paribus. It may not be the case that I can get the best of both at one place. Anyone else like to chime in on this? Also, any opinions on the various schools to which I was admitted would be appreciated (thanks buckeye). I'll refrain from giving my own take on those places for now since they are in play so to speak.

As far as method of notification, it was email for Duke and UT Austin, in person at UNC, and phone at Michigan. I had interviews prior to acceptance at all but UT Austin.
