IMO A

use the number mentioned in the option to get a firm answer

Potentially A and C are the only 2 answers
Where A leads the answer

\(x^2 +x\) should be least.
Option A should fit in.
a) 0.25-0.5= -0.25
b) 0.25+0.5=0.75
c) 2.25-1.5=0.75
d) 2.25+1.5= 3.75
e)4+2 =6

straight answer A
