Find the perimeter of the rectangle ABCD, if the length and breadth are positive integers.

(1) The area of rectangle \(ABCD = 56 cm^2\) --> xy = 56. Many combinations are possible (1, 56); (2, 28); (4, 14); (7, 8); ... Not sufficient.

(2) The greatest common factor of length and breadth is 1. x and y are co-prime. Clearly not sufficient.

(1)+(2) (1, 56) and (7, 8) both satisfy the statements giving different perimeters. Not sufficient.

Answer: E.

Good question, makes us realize that how important number 1 is. I almost thought the length and breadth to be 7 and 4 but suddenly realized that 27 and 1 can also be the options. Both options are insufficient because of this reason. So I chose E.
