Had my interview a few hours ago with The Associate Dir. of Admissions - Alexsis Scott, the whole thing lasted about 40+ mins. Alexsis made it super comfortable for me to speak and allowed me to express everything I wanted to share while answering her questions. The following are the questions (which I remember being asked...as the whole thing seems a blur now because it went by so fast!)
1. What has inspired you to get an MBA? Why Foster?
2. What are you most excited about/looking forward to at Foster?
3. What challenges/opportunities do you expect to have while at Foster?
4. How can you contribute to the Foster community, esp. w.r.t. to clubs and activities?
5. Why do you think you will be suitable for the roles you have mentioned post-MBA?
6. Any situation where you got negative feedback? Most recent professional compliment?
7. Anything you would like to ask me?
Hope this helps!

Kira Qs -
1. Tell us an instance when you went above and beyond to help a friend.
2. Tell us an instance when you wanted to do something but faced resistance. How did you tackle that situation ?

Had my Skype interview with Deputy Director of Admissions. It was a really nice interview.
Some of the questions that I can remember are listed below:
1. Can you walk me through your life so far emphasising on your professional experiences.
-> Some follow up questions here.
2. How did you decide that MBA is the right next choice. And how can Foster help you in that.
3. There is a possibility that your Plan A won't work. What is your Plan B?
4. What does the words determination and resilient mean for you? Could you share an example where you showed these characteristics?
5. As we all know branding is very important and each product is supposed to have an edge on others. Similarly, as an MBA student, you need to have that edge/uniqueness about you. What according to you is that edge that you have over someone else?
Then came the chance for me to ask questions, and in all my experience, this was the most satisfying Q/A session I had where he really answered my questions in detail with complete honesty.
If you see, one of the question is same as one of the Kira questions. So I would suggest you to go through that as well. Its a casual interview. Be yourself. Know your story well and be confident about them.
All the best to everyone reading this!

KIRA Questions I received:
1. When pursuing new job opportunities, what qualities in the position or the company are most important to you?
2. Please tell me about a time when you had more on your plate than you could reasonably handle within a given time period. Which task took priority over the others, what happened to the other tasks, and what was the final result?

I'm done with the KIRA. Below are the questions which I got:
Describe a situation where you were a team member and not a leader. How did the result impact you?
Experience working with team where members didn't get along well in the beginning. What did you do and what was the outcome?
Describe a situation when you were supposed to complete a boring task, how did you motivate yourself and the team?
Describe a situation where you used F2F communication over Email communication although Email would've been faster.

Got done with my video interview just now.
I was asked the following 2 questions(in my own words):
1. What are the most important leadership attributes according to you?
2. Tell us about a situation at work where you had too much on your plate then you could work on. How did you decide what to prioritise and what was the end result?
PS: The practice questions are completely unrelated to what is asked. They are just to get a feel of the interview and get comfortable with the interface.
The entire thing takes less than 5 minutes.

Interviewed on campus with Associate Director of Admissions Alexsis Scott. Questions were fairly straightforward leading with "Why MBA, Why Foster?" Alexsis kept the interview very conversational and gave additional insight into the program while we spoke. She also asked several behavioral questions including: "Tell me about a time you received negative feedback" and "Tell me about the last compliment you received." At the end we had time for me for me to ask questions. All told I believe the interview lasted about 40 minutes, which flew by. I had a great experience, best of luck to those interviewing!

I had my Skype interview with Amber Janke. She let me know that she had gone through my resume and essays and had few questions which she'd like to ask on my application and my work experience. Following are some of the questions I was asked:
1. Run me through your work exp post undergrad
2. Best achievement in the current role at work
3. Why MBA now? Why Foster?
4. What value will you add to the community?
5. Time when you were not a leader but worked in a team and your contribution
6. Biggest risk you've taken at work
7. Time when you set very high goals
8. What are you passionate about outside academics and work.
9. Any questions you'd like to ask me?
Interview lasted for about 40 minutes. Nothing out of the ordinary. Know your story well and be ready with your reasons for choosing Foster.
All the best

I had a Skype interview last week. The interviewer had a specific set of questions prepared in advance, which were mostly similar to what everyone has already shared so far. My interview went on for around 40 minutes. Some of the questions asked were :
1. Walk me through your resume after graduation
2. Short and long-term goals. Why MBA and why Foster?
3. Any instance of how you have dealt with conflict at workplace
4. What are good leadership qualities according to you?
5. What do you think will be the biggest challenge for you at Foster?
6. Anything that you will like to ask me.
My advice will be to just compile a list of questions from what others have shared so far and practice your answers for all of them. You will most probably be asked from within that set.

The interviews at Foster are very conversational. My admissions officer was great and it was held in her office.
They will have read through your application so there'll be questions about your resume and job experience. From there she asked a couple situational questions which led to questions about why I was choosing to get an MBA and why at Foster. Then you'll get an opportunity to ask them some questions.
They emphasize teamwork so one of the questions will probably ask how you work in team or group settings.

Interview with Dan Poston (Asst. Dean) and we had a great conversation. If you read through the interview debriefs, they all discuss a really conversational atmosphere, and I would strongly agree with that. We started off discussing what I am interested in doing with my MBA, which spawned other conversations on what industry I am interested and various trends in the market.
I wasn't asked anything out of the ordinary for MBA interviews, but I will say that many of the questions revolved around why Foster and my path fit together - what interests me about the program, how will I contribute to the student body and my project teams, how will I represent the school once I am back in the workforce.

I did my interview today on campus..
First of all, the city is wonderful, the campus is too!!! I love this program and I want so much to get admitted..!
I do not know how the interview went, I had so many thing that now that I am thinking I did not mention...
Why MBA, why now, why Foster?
What is the strongest part in your application?
Tell me what people at work will say about you?
Define success.
Define failure.
If an MBA was not an option what you would do.
What do you think will be the greatest challenge you will face at the Foster program.
The biggest professional failure.
Which is you leadership style.

I had my interview with Tim near LAX on Feb 26th. I showed up almost 45 mins late - thanks to a couple of accidents and LA traffic. I left San Diego 2.5 hours before the interview start time to be there 30 mins prior but still showed up 45 mins late - there went the first impression and the 45 mins of our one hour slot! I duly apologized, and Tim was very accommodating. The interview lasted about 35 mins with the next guy in line waiting patiently for us to get done. I thnaked that guy who played a good teamball.
The interview went fine. Besides the standard questions - why MBA, why now, why Foster, there were quite a few interesting questions. 1) Define success 2) Define failure 3) What will your subordinates say about you? 4) What is the biggest challenge you think that you will face at Foster? 5) The weakness in your application that we should overlook and why? 6) No MBA, what is your plan? and a few more I just can't recollect. As you can see, we were (esp., I was) working under tremendous time pressure, but overall I think it went ok given the initial roadbump (no pun intended). My two cents is that one should personalize the answers to the extent possible even for questions like #1 and #2. Big picture perspective, treat it like a job interview nothing more nothing less.
Hope this helps.

I had my interview, we started with stardart questions, why mba, why now why foster etc. then he asked me my definition of success and then my definition of failure. and then asked my biggest professional failure. what classes I am excited about, what will be my weakness at school, how I researched the school etc. all standard no oddball questions.
well the point is my interview lasted 15 minutes. can you believe? I ruined the interview in some way. I am expecting a ding actually.

I had my in-person on Friday with the head of the program. If i had known that going in i probably would have been a lot more nervous. But i feel like it went well, and at a minimum i didn't mess up. I had some ideas that he seemed to agree with and that he found interesting, but i couldn't read him very well because he used to be a lawyer. But I'm still hopeful that this is going to happen!

So I had my f2f interview yesterday - I'm R3 applicant, originally waitlisted - and I thought I'd give you guys a run down of how it went.
This isn't a blind interview. My interviewer was well versed in all aspects of my application - essays, resume, all those boxes we filled in - so there were no questions about going through an interview or 'tell me about yourself'. It was very laid back and I found it far more enjoyable than the others because he had already reviewed my application. It was really just an easy conversation about why an MBA will suit my future goals, what I could contribute to the incoming cohort, and why I wanted to come back to UW (I went there for undergrad).
Good luck to all of you!

I had my interview on campus last week. It was really easy and conversational. My interviewer had no notes in front of him but was well versed in my background. The whole experience solidified my desire to be at Foster next fall. Jan. 15 can't get here soon enough.

Had my interview yesterday with Sarah. It lasted close to an hour and was extremely conversational. My biggest draw factor for Foster is Seattle, and she's reaffirmed my beliefs. she had read up on my essays and resume and brought up names by herself. The interview was very pleasant. I really do hop I get in at Foster. He's the question debrief for those who are yet to take up their interview.
1.what do you do for fun
2.why did you choose your undergrad college
3.i'm sure you're looking at other colleges, so what criteria do you use to pick a program
4.can you describe a typical day at work
5.how do you see yourself contributing to the Foster community
