I am a engineering graduate from a top 10 engineering school in the nation, graduated with a 3.55-3.6 . I have 4-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry (at a leading O&G firm). I took a couple of practice GMAT tests and got roughly a ~730. I am looking to get into operations management and was wondering what schools I would have a shot at? I know Cox, McCombs, and Jones would give me opprotunities in O&G, but are there any other schools that can get me into operations management at a leading O&G firm?

i assume you are going for full time? i think you are targeting too low. assuming that your goals line up (it seems like it does), you have good recommendations, and not a dud of a personality, i think you have a very good chance of getting into a top 10 school. i realize that those 3 schools have lot of connections in O&G but getting an MBA at MIT (for example) would definitely have more weight in my opinion.

Operations management in my book are MIT LGO, Ross Tauber, Kellogg MMM. Beyond that, Penn State, ASU, and Wisconsin come to mind but their recruiting will be much more regional. If you want O&G in Texas then obviously McCombs is a sure bet.
