590 is a good score to start with. Unfortunately, you will be in the same boat of over represented applicants. You might have a slight edge over Indian applicants, who do not have any International work experience. US schools put more weightage to GMAT score than other factors, so you must aim and get around 750-760. Let us know about your profile details and which schools you are targeting?

Thanks for the reply, I am targeting Tuck, Darden, Ross at the moment.

I am in the same boat when it comes to being an Indian student looking to go for an MBA in the US after MS. Are there any challenges transferring from H1B to F1 for a full-time MBA? Is it trickier if have an approved i-140?
