I think that if you are set on MBB and only MBB it will be worth the $250 bucks to try again. If you would consider some other firms, you might have a good shot. I have heard of 650 and above getting into consulting with a bit of extra effort and strong networking.
any tips on verbal. pl i would really appreciate if you guide me where i should study and practice verbal from. books and material which helped you immensely. i am fairly confident with quant and have always been but can't seem to go past 37 in verbal even though i got 35 in exam in gmat prep i got 37 once.
What's your weakness in verbal? Reading Comp? Sentence Correction? Critical Reasoning?
For me it Reading Comprehension. I finally got into a mindset where I looked forward to reading the passages, enjoyed what I read(no matter how dull it was), and ultimately did better. I also read BusinessWeek any chance I got to get some practice reading non-fiction, sometimes dry, material.
I think I went from V37 to V44 (first mock GMAT to actual) and a good portion was Reading Comprehension. I improved Sentence Correction by doing lots of practice problems and following tips from the Manhattan Guides.
well honestly i remember solving gmat advanced quant when i took the gmat in december and i did it with relative ease. all the questions at the back and yet i got 47 on quant and i was getting higher in mock tests. verbal- i have time issues. second i hate doing rc's and i tend to guess a lot when it comes to SC. i think i am fairly confident with critical reasoning but if there is something out there which would help me further i would appreciate it.
the books i have are gmat-all 8 books. og 13th edition. manhattan advanced quant. powerscore critical reasoning bible. all these i have practiced thoroughly. anything i should add to this?
i only want to retake it if i can manage a 720+. i don't see any point taking it and scoring a 690 or 700 as thats not a big step up from 670.
