Does this imply that an international candidate, who can not travel to US and visit the school should refrain from applying EA ??
An elaborate response would be highly appreciated.

Absolutely not. Last year, many international applicants who had never made it to the States got in. I know this for a fact as a friend of mine got in. By visiting, you get a grasp for the student culture and fit. That will help you in your essays and interview. So yes it is to your advantage if you can visit, but it is not a deal breaker. At the end of the day, if you make a strong case, you will get in, visit or no visit.
You shouldn't apply to the EA if Fuqua is not your first choice. As in, if you got into Harvard and Fuqua, you should be prepared to go to Fuqua.

dude.. the key question here is to apply EA or R1.
Do I get an advantage if I apply EA even though I've not visited the school... or is it better to stick to R1 ?
This question subject to the fact that Duke is my first choice (obviously)... which definitely is in my case.
