Thanks everyone for your posts and information shared.
I am thinking of applying for fall 2021, possibly PAT route, mainly as I am not sure of time commitment. For PAT approach, do we still need to go through standard application process? essay, letters of reco etc., ?
Also how can I find what the questions are for recommenders, so I can prepare letters for them before hand?

Hi Srini,
I highly recommend you to sign up for the live sessions hold by Gies College of Business every other week. There are admission officers answering questions via zoom. Also, you can email online@business.illinois.edu. They usually respond to your email within one week.
These help me to get the accurate information I want. I hope they are hopeful to you.
Can anyone please share insights about this essay prompt:
For international students seeking employment in the United States, realizing that the US job market is extremely competitive and challenging, if unable to secure employment in the US, what are your alternative plan(s)?
Congrats to everyone who's in the program already. I'll have my interview on Friday. Those, who already had the interview, could you advise on what to expect?
Just wanted to help contribute since I found this forum very helpful. I was accepted into the Summer '21 iMBA program yesterday (yay).
I submitted my application 2/21 I was missing a recommendation letter only 2/3 at time of submission. 2/22- Illinois emailed me to let me know that my application was missing a recommendation and to let them know when I got it so the application would continue. 2/22- A couple hours later I received an invitation to interview scheduled it for 3/2 (first available) 3/2- Had a 20 min zoom interview, 3 mins were spent waiting or having connection issues. 1.) What are your goals during and after the iMBA program and how will the program help you achieve those goals? 2.) Tell me how you lead a team. 3.) What do you bring to the program? Time for me to ask my own questions, I asked 3. Completed the interview with what happens next. I will be informed of their decision by Friday night (3/5/21). 3/5 - Received admission to Gies.
Hope this helps someone, thanks for all of your posts.
3/9 - Application submitted 3/19 - Final Letter of Recommendation submitted 3/20 - Invited to interview 3/26 - Interviewed* 4/1 - Received "Congrats! You're an Illini!" e-mail (hopefully not an April Fools joke)
* Interview questions were generally the same as everyone else in this thread (whose responses I used to prep for the interview, so very much appreciated!): 1) Why Gies? 2) What do you expect to gain from the program? 3) What is your experience working on remote teams? 4) How much time do you expect to commit to the program?
Good luck to everyone still applying, and looking forward to connecting with fellow students!
Hi My name is Leo. I just received email confirmation about my acceptance to Spring 2021 cohort. I would like to find my future classmates here (at least in application right now). We can share with each other about your thoughts or status. Let me know under this thread!!
Is anyone planning to start earlier? How many years do you plan to compete your degree?
Hi all. Just applied last week. Great work experience including Big 4 consulting, 11 YOE, but low GPA (2.5). We shall see. For people posting in the future, hope you can provide your work experience and GPA along with your admit decision to help other applicants see who's getting in. Cheers
I got invited for an interview, any idea about what are questions could be asked?
Additionally, I am curious if does everyone normally receives an interview invitation once completely submitted the application or do they apply screening before sending an invite?
