Take 5&6 if you really can't buy all 4. They're the most up to date tests. 5&6 were released the most recently and as someone who took the GMAT a few days ago, 5&6 are definitely closer to the real thing.

That being said, I'd do everything possible to scrape together the money to buy 3&4 as well. While they're not as up to date as 5&6, taking more practice tests will definitely help. You'll not only get to practice more problems but also (and more importantly) practice your testing and pacing strategy.

Thanks for the advice and headsup, i was also planning to buy GMAT official advanced questions along with the exam.

Do you think getting more practice test rather than advanced questions is a better strategy?

I'd personally say that you should focus on what you think is weaker. This means if you struggle a lot with test taking (ie: timing, staying calm under pressure, etc.) focus on the practice tests. Alternatively, you feel that you struggle with the higher level questions, then go for the advanced questions.

I personally believe that there should not be a lot of difference. Each of the practice exam is as close to the real one as any other. I bought only 3 & 4 and I got 760 and 780 respectively in those and in the real one that I took 2 days after test 4, I got 770. Even test 1 and 2 were close to the actual score.
Also, I feel buying all 4 will be a better bet than buying advanced questions. You can always come to gmatclub and filter 700 level questions to practice harder questions. Having more tests to prepare you to sit in the real exam like conditions will help you better.

One more thing, just in case, if you feel you're not confident enough, and you might need to retake the test after your first attempt, really hoping that it will not be the case, you should try to save 2 official tests so that you have something to practice that is close to the real thing after the first attempt. Might help you get your confidence up. (This is absolutely my personal belief and undoubtedly is highly debatable, just putting it out if it helps you in any case)

This is my retake so I got lucky that I didn't purchase any tests before 😉

Yeah, I'm going to purchase the exams over advanced questions as I struggled more with the time than anything else..
