Hi guys,
Gave my gmat today and scored a 700 (Q48, V37, IR7)
Well, I'm disappointed with quant as I was consistently getting 50-51 on my practice tests. I panicked in the last 7 quant questions as i just had 5 minutes left and guessed through most of them. I know if I retake the exam, I can push 48 to 50 or, on a good day, to 51. Verbal was as I expected. Even on a retake I would most probably get the same score on verbal.
But the thing that I'm confused with is, is the retake actually worth it? Would a school that doesn't accept me at 700, accept me at 720, or vice-versa. Is the 20 point difference actually worth the retake?
I'm aiming for MBA in Information Technology from a top 15 bschool. There is abundance of information for specializations such as marketing or finance but not much on Information Technology. I could only find this online: https://www.topmba.com/mba-rankings/spe ... management
Any suggestions on good bschools for MBA in IT would be much appreciated.

2.5 years work ex in IT(have been doing good at work, got 2 promotions in 2 years)
Extra-curricular: Athlete in school and college; Volunteer at an NGO for underprivileged children.

Sure why not, i think its probably worth it. Brush up on some time saving strategies and give it another go. Guessing on 7 questions must've really hurt your score. You could aim for 740-750 if you put in 3-4 weeks of study.

IT/Engineering Male needed 740 in 2016-2017 season to get on the board and be taken seriously. I would suggest 750 this coming season... sorry.
P.S. There is no such thing as Rankings for Marketing, Finance, or IT. It is all just vague guidance with some general idea. What counts is selectivity of a program, ability of its graduates to get a job, and overall experience. Kellogg can think it is #1 in Marketing all it wants but Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton will always trump it, no matter how low they are ranked in that imaginary "Marketing" ranking.
