Hi WCGMAT0208,

First off, a 730/Q49 is an outstanding Score - and with this Score, you can comfortably apply to ANY Schools that interest you (including LBS). As such, a retest is almost certainly NOT necessary. With highly competitive Schools, it's important to remember that beyond needing a strong GMAT Score (which you now have) you also need a strong OVERALL profile AND you need to properly 'market yourself' to each individual Program that you apply to. As such, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and in simple terms, your time and energy would likely be better spent improving other aspects of your application than trying to improve what is already an outstanding Score by a couple of points).

There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

Thank you, Rich for the valuable feedback. I will speak to the Admission experts in the link provided.

Hey can you write a debrief on with what score you started in verbal and how you achieved the current score in verbal

I've already mentioned my mock scores. I took the mocks in the following order:

- 1: 730 (Q49, V41)
- 2: 740 (Q47, V46)
- 3: 720 (Q49, V40)
- 4: 750 (Q49, V44)

In Verbal, SC was my weak point so I solved the SC questions in the Main OG as well as the Verbal OG and thoroughly reviewed all option choices for the wrong answers so that I understand the reasoning behind each choice. Do let me know if you have any further questions

Any one OG is fine or should we go through all OG. For example, I have OG 2018 and verbal review 2018. Do I have to go through new questions also?

That depends on how you are performing in the topic. I felt I needed more practice in SC so I started doing the SC questions in the Verbal OG, but if Verbal is your weak point, my suggestion would be to solve all verbal questions in the OG and Verbal OG.

In terms of new OG editions, there are certain new questions in each OG and you can probably look up for the list online. If you run out of questions in the existing OG, then you can move on to those ones, but otherwise it is not required.

I see you plan to speak to some admissions consultants. If after speaking to them you decide you want to retake the GMAT, feel free to reach out, and I'd be happy to provide some advice.

Hi Scott,

I've spoken to a few admission consultants and have decided to give it another shot.

I'd really appreciate some advice on how to target a 750+ score

Do you want advice on just how to improve in SC or in all aspects of quant and verbal?

Analyzing which questions or sections (i.e. geometry) you are getting questions incorrect may help. Consider also things you could do to make yourself more test-ready (food, sleep, best time of the day to take a lengthy exam).
