Hi everyone,
I am planning to apply this Fall to HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, and Columbia. To increase my chances of getting accepted I am attempting to increase my GMAT score as was recommended to me by numerous admissions consultants.
I took the GMAT about a year ago and scored a 710 which I was happy with and not planning to take again. With the news that I described above I decided that I would take the next month or so prior to beginning applications to attempt to raise my score. To get my score of 710 I took an in person
MGMAT class and did the official guide problems.
Before I began studying again I took a GMATPrep practice test and got a 680 Q43 V40. I then spent the next month studying using the following resources:
- Magoosh GMAT videos
- Completed all Hard Magoosh Quant problems
- Completed all Hard Magoosh Sentence Correction problems
- Completed all quant OG problems and kept an error log with which I revisited the questions I got wrong once
- Completed all sentence correction OG problems
- Completed three additional practice tests
The scores I received on the practice tests are as follows:
- 680 Q47 V37
- 710 Q48 V39
- 670 Q49 V32 (not quite sure what happened here)
After taking the exam yesterday (6/9) I scored 700 Q47 V39.
I am planning to give the GMAT another try as I feel that I am close to surpassing my 710. I am pretty lost though around what I should focus on from this point out. I have heard that the PowerScore SC and CR books are great and have considered getting these and I am also considering completing all the very hard
magoosh problems. I could also purchase the GMATPrep additional question packs and practice exams if worthwhile. What materials and strategy would you recommend for me?
I was planning to reschedule my test for June 29th do you feel this is enough time to give myself a shot at beating my 710?
Any help and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
