Hi,
I recently gave my 12th GMATclub Quant Test and had a query w.r.t the same. I got Q45
Just to give you some background first
I got 8 - 500 Lvl Questions (100% correctly answered), 14 - 600 Lvl Questions (71% correctly answered, 4 incorrect - Question Numbers 5, 7, 20, & 25) & 9 - 700 Lvl Questions (56% correctly answered, 4 incorrect - Question Numbers 2, 4, 24, 26)
Overall I got Questions 2, 4, 5, 7, 20, 24, 25 & 26 incorrect
So if you notice i got no questions between 7 to 20 incorrect
Now what i find weird is that even though i was answering questions correctly post 7th question, the level of questions was not going up.
Levels post 7th question were as follows - 600, 600, 700, 600, 700, 500, 700, 700, 500, 600, 700, 600.
As you can see even though I was answering 700 level questions correctly it still kept sending me back to 500 & 600 levels. This impacted my overall score and kept it at a lower percentile because I did not get enough 700 level questions.
Why I find this weird is because another paper I answered 3 700Lvl and 2 600Lvl questions incorrectly in the first 10 questions i still received 13 700 level questions which kept my overall percentile higher cz i got more opportunities to get higher level questions correct.
Can you tell me if I am not seeing this correctly? or was there actually an issue with the CAT?

Hi! I read this on one of the forums (according to old pattern) -
It is IMPERATIVE to get the first 20 questions correct to stand a chance to get Q51. First 7 questions would be straightforward so easy to answer. From roughly the 21st question, given that you got 20/20 correct, you start getting the hard ones. You don't have to get all the questions right to get a Q51.
If we shallow these figures down to fit into the new system, you got 2/5 in the first 5 questions. That is going to affect your score. I got a Q45 even though i got 8+ questions wrong and probably more than 10.
The most important topics are INTEGERS, STATISTICS, and ABSOLUTE VALUES. If you get ALL questions correct in integers (and number properties) and statistics you are in Q5x league.
