The deposits may be the remanent of communal food preparation or they maybe the remains of ritual animal sacrifices.
A. Similar deposits elsewhere would not help us know whether they were used for communal food preparation or ritual sacrifice.....Wrong
B. The animals species that is commonly eaten can also be used for sacrifice ritual.......Wrong
C. Whether they are bones displayed marks of the kind produced when animals are butchered for the removal of meat. If bones display marks of kind that are produced when animal are butchered then it must be usef for food preparation and if those cut marks are not present then then animal might be used for sacrifice ritual..........Correct

A. Irrelevant as finding similar remains elsewhere doesent clarify whether the animals were used for food or sacrifices. It only tells us that it was widespread.
B. Irrelevant as sacrificed animals could also be consumed from the same species. Knowing the species doesent tell us what was done with them
C. Relevant since if there are clear butcher cut marks on the bones then it proves meat was removed for consumption and if there are no cut marks and the bones are intact and charred, it can be assumed that the animal was sacrificed whole
D. Irrelevant as it doesent differentiate between the options. Both cooked animals or sacrifices could be animals which were in their prime.
E. Irrelevant as contemporary culture could tell a bit about regional customs but cant say anything about the specific archaeological site

Passage analysis,
Finding: EA settlement deposition of charred bones. Varying degree of burning noticed.
Theories:
1. remnants of communal food preparation. (slaughtered & cooked)

Notice the difference between these two is one major parameter. one is offered whole and for another purpose it was butchered.
Answer choice analysis,
A. This information does not provide any information to support any of the theories. Even if more deposition is found it does not give clue why it was burnt.
B. If we know this info, still we do not know whether the same animals were sacrificed for religious ceremonies. So, not helpful.
C. This is actually helpful. Since we know for religeous sacrifices of animals they were sacrificed whole. Therefore if we find cut marks for meat removal in the bone, it definitely bolster theory1. This is the correct answer.
D. Since the author did not mention about age preferences of animals for any of the purpose for these settlement's inhabitants. This does not help bolster any of the theories.
