GMAT FE 725; Flagged for administrative review?

Question

Hi all,
I gave the GMAT FE yesterday (at the exam centre) and got a score of 725 (90/85/85). It was a smooth experience overall, however, I received a mail today saying my exam had been flagged for administrative review. I wanted to understand if this is a routine process, or a cause for worry! Can’t think of anything out of the ordinary (except that I finished the exam around 10 minutes sooner). Please advise!

That's an amazing score, but just to confirm, was this a test-centre attempt or an online attempt (reviews are common for online attempts)?

I see. In the chat you mentioned not taking the break, so you didn't access a book/your mobile during your test. Is there anything else you can think of that could have triggered this review, like speaking more loudly than is normal while reading?

I ask because most test-centre attempts don't trigger reviews. However, this may be something new that I'm not aware of. Don't worry too much about it (the email may have been sent in error), but you should probably reach out to customer support if you don't get an update even after a week or so.

Can you tell me which centre you took the test at, and the email ID from which you received the email?

Wow. Great score… and these are very rare. They have some crazy rules about not using your device after the test and that you have to use your device after you leave the premises which makes really no sense but it’s mostly enforced during the brakes.

Hi all. This happened to me also today. Took the GMAT FE at a test centre here in Germany yesterday and scored between 600 and 650. Lower then my mocks but should suffice for the uni I'm targeting.
Woke up today to the same E-Mail as tavishi1901, which left me quite confused because of my rather low score. Only thing I can remember was being in the 96th percentile in data insights but that's it. It's stated everywhere that the publishing process can take up to 20 days. Now the E-Mail states that the review can take up to 20  business  days starting now. If the later is true, I'm running the risk of missing my uni's deadline (May 15th). I really hope that they sort this out until then.

The same thing happened with me. Took the exam yesterday at test centre. Got a 715(Q90, V87,D80), today recd a mail from test security team that attempt had been flagged for review. Contacted the centre staff(Kolkata, India) as well to check. They are clueless. Quite scared.

Hi Ajitesh, I received the mail from testsecurity gmac 
My centre was Ansal University in Gurgaon.
I didn’t read any questions out loud, and I didn’t take any breaks either (so no phone usage/book access)… not sure what the issue is.
I’ll keep everyone posted with the progress!

Hi All,

This happened to me as well. I gave the GMAT FE yesterday, got a 685 (85/84/83) - I understand that is a decent, but not an outlandishly fantastic score.. something which I'm reading is triggering reviews ?
Also its my first attempt ( something which is also triggering reviews ?)

I got the flagging email from testsecurity gmac 
I took the test at a test center (Barakhamba Road, Delhi), took the optional break after the second session.
There were no issues during the exam, no warnings from the proctor, etc.
I was thoroughly checked at all times before entering the exam room - pockets, frisking, passport, palm vein, and my spectacles as well.

The things which I believe might have been problematic -

I might have moved my lips a bit (only a bit) during some questions in the verbal reasoning section.
I made some gridlines on the pad during the 30 sec we get before the DI and Verbal Reasoning section.
I was at the test center for 15 min after my exam - using the restroom, drinking a few glasses of water, and checking my blood sugar (does that violate some rule about no devices ?)
- It's a glucometer. The other device (my phone), was switched off until I was out of the test center.

Hi rohan_99_samurai,

Given that 4 people have reported the same issue, I think there are only a few likely explanations. These emails may have been sent in error, or there are new security measures in place. A third possibility is that these measures were always in place; they just didn't send test takers an email earlier.

The test-centre GMAT is far more secure than the online GMAT, and at least one of the 4 reports is from a Pearson Professional centre, so I think this is either an error or a new, routine review. In other words, I don't think you guys need to worry about this.

Hi. I also gave my GMAT FE on 22 April in Pearson test center and scored a 705. My exam has also been flagged for administrative review. I remember scoring 90 in quant with 10 minutes to spare which might have triggered the review. I don't see any other reason why it should have as this is my fifth attempt. I did quietly mumble some of the verbal section questions to myself but I have done it in past attempts as well. I also did not take any breaks and gave all the sections in a single shot.
