I think I would also strongly recommend that test takers pay extra attention to the first 3-5 questions, for quant at least....

The interesting part is that this is exactly the same pattern as the other test taker, they missed the first question.

I’ll try out this scenario with GMAT prep. But I’ve been able to get six wrong on GMAT prep and still get 81.

Thank you, may be one other scenario to try would be getting the first one wrong as well as the last one wrong.

I think in the Focus Edition it is not only important to start strong but it is also important to finish strong, unlike the previous edition of the test with 31 questions, where you could get a lot more wrong towards the end and still get a good score.

ChiranjeevSingh Hello, I know you have had the first question wrong in Verbal on the actual GMAT, copying you in for visibility on this topic for Quant.

Thanks,

Thank you! I have tried making first six wrong on GMAT focus and I didn’t see much of a difference….

Compared to making six wrong in the middle or six wrong at the end.

So I feel the difference is really due to the question bank…. I don’t know how to explain it in any other way

Thank you, yes I have the guide printed out for me.

Do you have a way to tackle Must Be True questions that have three statements and all of those are some kind of algebraic entities asking to be true or not true?

Meaning do you tackle by taking assumptions or numbers or working backwards or you actually try and solve the algebraic arrangment?

I know different approaches will work in different scenarios but let me know if you have any thought my Knight.

Hi playthegame,

You may be right. Given that the quant and verbal sections have fewer questions now, test takers may have to do well across more of each section to get a high score (less margin for error).

All the best for the retake.

Same here! Really curious if admission sees this and is able analyze the test scores in all fairness, which may seem to be a challenge .
