I am a non-traditional student, and this has been a toughest time for me to go back to college to obtain a BS degree in Information Technology, which I am approaching to the end of my requirements to obtain the degree. I am planning on to go straight into MBA program after I am done with BS degree, but they told me I have to take GMAT. I was wondering how hard it is? I just need 500 or better to get in. Is there some sort of online practice test I could take to give me a feel, and so I can decide if this is a doable thing for me? Is this one of those things that a person can just study and do well enough on the test?

It looks like you are very new to the whole B-school and GMAT process. I'd recommend you read through this thread first:

If you have any questions after that, you should post them in this thread again.
There is a free software you can download from www.mba.com and it contains two full length practice tests. You can take one of them to gauge how well prepared you are now. You should save the second free test when you are farther along your study course. Good luck in your preparation!

The GMAT is a standardized test that covers verbal, quant and two essays.

A 500 is a rather obtainable score (36 percentile).
