1.What happens if my internet connection goes down during HOME GMAT ?
You should have redundant and dependable internet connection. Electricity supply should also be good.
2.Does the exam get rescheduled? In case it does get rescheduled, when can I take it up next? This is because I am planning to take the test this month and my B-school application round would close soon after that!
In case your exam is interupted because of your internet connection, you need to take this matter to the proctor and his decision may affect your schedule. You may reschedule GMAT by paying fees again anyways.
3.Is it then way safer to take the GMAT from an official GMAT test center?
Yes. In case, you are not sure about electricity and internet connections at your home.
4.What happens in case the internet at the test center fluctuates? Do I get to write a new test just on the same day(or within 2-3days atleast )?
I hope this will not happen. I have not heard about any such case.
5. Do I need any kind of writing material/rough book in case I take the test from a test center?
They will provide you writing pad and sketch pens but may vary with test centre.

If you go for the Online, consider keeping a spare marker next to your eraser just in case. Also take precautions to stop anyone from walking into your room during the exam. Perhaps place a "Exam in Progress!" note outside your door.

If the test centre has a power cut or any such problem, you will get a voucher that will allow you to book another test.

This happened to a student recently. He used the voucher for the Online GMAT instead of another test centre booking.

Hi yaygmat,

Since you seem to be quite worried about the internet during an at-home attempt, why don't you just take your GMAT at the test center?
