Hi guys,

My GMAT test is scheduled at Sept 6th. I just want to ask you guys' opinions on whether I should focus more on Quant or Verbal for the next 2 weeks.

Background: Engineering undergrad degree but currently working as an analyst in a bank. Non-native English speaker but pretty much used English as a means of communication for the last 10 years (other than to my parents).

Here are my CAT scores:
MGMAT 1 : IR:6-7 Q:48/78% V:37/81% Total:700/90%
MGMAT 2 : IR:5-7 Q:49/83% V:39/88% Total:720/94%
MGMAT 3 : IR:7-8 Q:47/73% V:43/96% Total:730/96%
GMATPREP 1 : IR:8 Q:49/83% V:35/74% Total:700/90%

It seems that so far my quant scores have been pretty consistent but my verbal have been fluctuating. Luckily the total score has not been lower than 700. Would it be more worthwhile for me to focus on verbal more than quant, knowing that I need to ensure my verbal doesn't drop drastically during the actual test? Also, is it better for me to do more practice CATs or go back to read the fundamentals? Timing was never a problem for me, I usually finish quant with 5 minutes left and verbal with 10 minutes left.

Thanks!

Going by your mock scores, i don't feel that you should focus more on quants, you generally get harder questions in MGMAT, so you are fine in the QA part.
So you should focus on the verbal section and try to solve the official questions only, be in the test format or from the OG.
Revise the MGMAT SC rules as you can gain a lot there.

All the best for the test!!!

I agree with ankur. Focus on Verbal for the last couple weeks (though don't completely forget about Quant). A boosted Verbal score will help your total score more than a boosted Quant score at this point.

Good luck on the test! September 6 is a good day to take it - it's my birthday

Thanks for the advice guys. I have focused my verbal in the past week and took 2 more practice CATs

MGMAT 4 : IR:6-7 Q:47/73% V:44/97% Total:740/97%
GMATPREP2: IR:7 Q:50/90% V:39/88% Total:730/96%

I have improved quite a bit in my V and am feeling more confident for my test on Friday. Hopefully the my practice CAT scores get reflected in the real GMAT. Will probably do the 2 remaining MGAT practice test in the next couple of days to maintain my momentum.
