My GMAT prep started sometime around Apr ‘22. I diligently started preparing every day for a couple of hours in the evening after dinner and office work. I followed only and only
e gmat e learning portal and nothing else.I can divide my gmat journey in stages.
Stage1(April/ May) As suggested by the
e-gmat team I started with master comprehension and this was actually a great learning for me since I had never ever read any newspaper, magazine or fiction/ non fiction books. After the master comprehend I started with SC. I liked about the
e gmat approach for solving SC questions wherein, the first emphasis was on meaning followed by litmus testing the sentence against a fixed set of grammar rules. I found this quite effective because I felt this method was easy to replicate on the exam and left very little to chance. However, upon completion of SC module I was not able to achieve the requisite threshold in the medium and hard cementing quizzes. Without getting perturbed I did the entire SC module again and was able to achieve the requisite threshold (medium- 70 and Hard-55).
After SC I started with CR and was comfortable with the pre thinking approach taught by the
e gmat. I achieved the requisite standards in the cementing stage and scored v40 in the ability quizzes . Finally I, started the RC module and embraced the
e gmat approach of spending adequate time for reading the passage. I managed to achieve the requisite threshold for medium and hard cementing quizzes.
In stage 2(May/June) I started with the quant module and was greatly helped by the pace engine and served valuable amount time.
I comfortably passed the cementing quiz and also scored q49/50 in the ability quizzes.
In stage 3(July) I started with my test readiness stage and was assigned a capable mentor: Abha Mohan for the same. Abha thoroughly reviewed my account and brought up the weak areas where I required some deliberate preparation. I followed her advice and solved all the assignments given to me by Abha.
Finally we successfully reached stage4( August) mocks. I scored a 660 on my first mock. I was literally disturbed by the mock score but was helped by Abha in understanding my mistakes and analysing my mocks. She did a thorough video analysis of my mock and pointed area of improvement. After a gap of one week I appeared for my second mock and score 710 and Abha again helped me finalising my approach. I appeared for my third mock and score 700 on it..
Finally on 26 August I appeared my GMAT ONLINE exam and scored a 700(Q49 and V36). Abha helped me a lot during my final three days before the exam l. She consistently shared final exam tips and helped me maintaining my approach. After completing the course, my verbal abilities improved significantly.
Two things which helped me immensely in acing the GMAT.
E gmat course curriculum: modules and scholaranium and mentorship. I would like reiterate that I followed only and only
e gmat to the extent that I did not solved any other questions except those available on their portal.
E gmat is simply the best as it provides a correct and structured approach to gmat preparation. Also, all my queries were solved within 24 hour and these queries provided me with the right kind of approach to gmat style questions particularly the medium and hard questions.
Abha (my
e gmat mentor) had full faith in my capabilities and constantly pushed me in the right direction and was instrumental in my success with GMAT.
Happy Learning!
