1. Before we jump into the fascinating world of GMAT scores and how
GMAT Club test relate to the official scores, I have some exciting news to share - we have been working on creating the next generation
GMAT Club tests which will use the same methodology in the same science behind the official algorithm. That’s it will make the experience and the tests even closer to the real exam. I’m hoping that we can get even more precise than Jim at prep because we have more questions and harder questions but that is something that we need to confirm once the new product launches. (we are targeting late April for lunch so in about a month or so).
2. on the score correlations, I would say the quant is very accurate and spot on, the verbal is inflated by about 1 to 2 points and the data insights right now is about 2-3 points below. (when you assemble and put it together the final score is actually surprisingly close because these imperfections have offset each other), but I got this data a few weeks ago when I was doing calibration testing for the new algorithm and was comparing it to the precision of the old algorithm. Hopefully this helps but keep in mind that the human component of nerves and panic are significantly more impactful than any algorithm
