Or if you are looking for specific method whenever you encounter denominators in inequalities questions just multiply the square of those numbers on both the sides like here multiply both sides with (x-2)^2 (x+1)^2 on both the sides as that won’t change the positive or negative aspect of the equations. And you will finally get x(x-2)(x+1)=<0 as the solvable equation , then if you know the wavy line method you deploy that or just simply plug values and arrive at the answer

PS 1

If x/{(x–2)(x+1)<=0}
, which of the following specifies all the possible values of x ?

A. x < –1
B. 0 ≤ x < 2
C. x ≤ –1 and 0 ≤ x < 2
D. x < –1 and 0 ≤ x < 2
E. x ≤ –1 and x ≥ 2

CAN ANYONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE SOLN FOR THIS QS?
if you want more detail on these types of question better watch aditya’s inequality video on youtube. Though lengthy, completely worth it.

every-day-at-noon-a-bus-leaves-for-townville-and-travels-at-a-speed-219201.html hi guys, I just have a silly doubt here, in bunuel’s approach why are we considering (usual time - 1/2) instead of (usual time + 1/2)?

Hi, could someone help me understand how they "thought" through this question.. I understand the solution but would like to learn the different ways in which folks approach such questions.

I would start by arranging the 12 members wherein the 6th and 7th members will give us the median.
Then since we have to maximize the range, we have to solve in order to minimize all the values except the 12th term.
Since we know all values are greater than 0 and they can repeat twice, we start with 1 1 2 2 3
In order for the median to be 8, 6th and 7th value can be either 8 & 8 or 7 & 9, but since we have to maximize range we will consider 8 and 8.
The rest of the values can be considered as 9 9 10 10 x, where x is our max value.
Since we already have the sum,
solving for x will get us x=37 which gives us the range as 37-1=36
